Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker believes Mitt Romney is a "good man and would have been a good president," but now that the former Massachusetts governor has officially backed out of the 2016 race, Walker would like his support among the list of possible Republican presidential hopefuls.
"I would love to have his endorsement," Walker told Fox News Channel's Bret Baier during a segment that aired Friday of an interview that will be running as part of a series surrounding potential 2016 candidates.
At the same time, Walker said that he thinks it is "a time for new fresh ideas," and he appreciates "the fact in his comments that he pointed out it is time to maybe pass the torch and look for new leadership."
Walker, who took a call from Romney while he was being interviewed by Baier, said that there is no doubt that Romney's decision not to mount a third try at the presidency changes the Republican landscape....

Big trough feeders for doing as little as possible on one hand, and the people who work for a living on the other. Elections are never about the 45% conservatives VS the 45% of liberals. Elections are about the 10% in the middle. Either that or a fundamental transformation of the 90% dug into their trenches.
For EVERY good conservative, there has been a significant contingent of FReepers who called that conservative a RINO (Hunter, Thompson, Gingrich, Santorum) until all we had left were actual RINOs.
I’m whistling in the wind. You will kill off Walker and another contingent of FReepers will kill off your favorite conservative. It’s what we do.
We don’t have to wait for RINO’s to stab us. We will stab all the conservatives until there are only RINOs left.
Yay!
Maybe you’re right. It’s early. Please God let a conservative win this time!
Remember how many so-called “Republicans, evangelicals and conservatives” went over to the Obama camp in 2008, even though McCain was not exactly Barry Goldwater or because Palin didn’t have enough experience? [snort] Now, just imagine what’ll happen when Hillary or Lieawatha nab the nomination.
Sorry, but those are RINOs too; if any were not, then one among them could have united conservative voters like I said, as well as get moderates and even some liberals behind them purely on character. Not good to mischaracterize them as “good conservatives” and get sucked in by their speeches on certain occasions; actions speak louder by far.
Thanks!
I wouldn’t want Michigan’s governor to run because I don’t think he’s conservative enough, but at least there are some things one can point to about Walker that give me some confidence. If there is a better conservative, then may that person win instead.
Why would he want the kiss of death?
I guess I posted a Getty image, go look for yourself!
My daughter is part of the liberal camp way high up in the food chain. I have it on good sources that they will go after Walker as an undereducated antagonist who appeals to the dumber part of the electorate. He lacks in education (in their playbook).
We vote for conservatives. Get it?
You mean RINOs themselves, or just plain liberals who talked a good game?
Enough evidence was out there to tell anyone that voting for Obama was acquiescing to disaster, and that McCain even six years ago was the lesser evil.
But, he does appear to have confounded them more than once! :-)
The all suck, No more lesser of the evils because its still evil.
Of course he would..
is there anyone surprised in here ???
Is Annie still borrowing Michelle’s clothes ???
It would take me hours to compile a list of just the famous ones. I’ll start with Secretary of State Colin Powell, Kathleen Parker, Peggy Noonan, Christopher Buckley and etc.
You mean to the 100%ers!
Confounded them locally. National politics is a whole different beast. I’m afraid Walker being right(as in correct) and an effective governor does not transport him to the next level of a national leader with a message. I’m beginning to think the media, Washington parasites, and lobbyists are just too much for an executive at odds with their wants, needs, and desires. The people have lost control of their national government. Much of their local government too.
It’s been the same story here on FR for ages. FR isn’t “really” a conservative forum. I even see Freepers who support faggot “rights” here which makes me wanna puke.
