On Wednesday night, NBC News anchor Brian Williams apologized to the American people for lying for well over a decade about a heart-stopping war story starring himself. Williams claimed for years that he had ridden a Chinook hit by an Iraqi RPG. Last night, Williams stated, I want to apologize. I said I was traveling in an aircraft that was hit by RPG fire. I was instead in a following aircraft. He then added, We all landed after the ground-fire incident and spent two harrowing nights in a sandstorm in the Iraqi desert. Sadly, Williams apology is chock full of misleading statements and what appears to be at least one outright lie.

He is dismembering his misremembering.
“But it was the sandstorm I braved that was so terrible”
Guess his almost Ernie Pyle moment, wasn’t.
So I guess Brian Williams has earned the right to be the moderator for the presidential debates.
What are the odds he’ll be giving the NBC nightly news tonight?
Good Heavens, if that was Rush, he would be shut off the air-waves, arrested for something, and banned from ever living in the United States again....
NBC authorized the liar to lie again.
“Mistake”? NO, it was/is a fabrication
by a typical NBC-anchor.
He has no honor and no honesty in his reporting.
NBC should fire his ass right now!!!!!
“I got confused as to whether the helicopter I was in was hit or the one that landed an hour before me that I didn’t even see.”
Yes that’s very credible.
“And oh yeah did I mention the sandstorm? That actually may have been worst than being hit by an RPG!”
Off With His Head!
I like how he says he was never under “direct enemy fire”. Put aside for a moment the fact that he actually called them the “enemy”, which is actually remarkable, and probably a slip of the tongue. “Direct fire”? So “indirect fire” is still a possibility?
If Williams survives, and he might, it will be ‘cause his peers in the MSM keep silent.
Just like the “news team” his colleagues that was traveling with Williams on the same helicopter. They allowed the 12 year lie to continue.
“NBC should fire his ass right now!!!!”
Why would they do that? He’s clearly their kind of guy.
Surprise, surprise, surprise!!
If a civilian is in a military aircraft flying over hostile territory, generally speaking, you are going to have precarious control of your emotions at best. If the aircraft is struck be enemy fire and has to land, that moment would never be misremembered and you’d likely have a smelly set of souvenir briefs.
