Jeb Bush made a series of astonishing remarks about immigration Wednesday. Actually, his comments were not so much about immigration as they were about illegal aliens.
First he said he wanted to repopulate Detroit with illegal aliens.
It just seems to me that maybe if you open up our doors in a fair way and unleashed the spirit of peoples' hard work, Detroit could become in really short order, one of the great American cities again," Bush said then. "Now it would look different, it wouldn't be Polish...But it would be just as powerful, just as exciting, just as dynamic. And that's what immigration does and to be fearful of this, it just seems bizarre to me.
Now, if we were talking about legal immigration, I would probably agree. But I think you and I both know whom Jeb was talking about "opening the doors" for. Illegal aliens are already roosting in our inner cities in the millions. Jeb simply wants to accelerate the process. But wait, there's more.
He said, during a discussion with Univision, that it was "ridiculous" to think that DREAMers, children brought to the U.S. by their parents illegally, shouldn't have an "accelerated path" to citizenship.
"I've never felt like the sins of the parents should be ascribed to the children, you know," Bush said in 2013. "If your children always have to pay the price for adults decisions they make how fair is that? For people who have no country to go back to which are many of the DREAMers it's ridiculous to think that there shouldn't be some accelerated path to citizenship."

I agree with Gov. Jeb Bush, You know look at the East German border walls/Berlin Wall during the time of the GDR, Then tell me you want our border to look like that.
Bad analogy. The Berlin wall was mostly there to keep East Germans from escaping to West Germany, not to keep West Germans out (East Germany would probably have welcomed immigrants from the West, if only they existed). A border fence on the US/Mexico border isn't to keep Americans in, it's to keep illegal immigrants out. Nice try at holding the Royal Gown for the the Bush family's crown prince, though.
So, you're resorting to personal insults, eh?
I hope you know that means you've conceded the argument.
Bye now.
Logical fallacy number one... Ad hominem.
A favorite here at FR.
Sad, but all too true.
Yep the Bushes sent all their jobs to china to help their rich friends have cheap labor. Now he wants more cheap labor for Amerika. What a Nwo tool.
Would he make such idiotic Bush statements if he didnt think the fix was in.. First one who should be deported is Jebbie and all.his money property confiscated. Based on hating America.
“He said, during a discussion with Univision, that it was “ridiculous” to think that DREAMers, children brought to the U.S. by their parents illegally, shouldn’t have an “accelerated path” to citizenship.”
Mitt... it that you?
Detroit had a big community of people of Polish ancestry decades ago. But since the 60s, Detroit has been mostly black.
But it wouldn’t be politically correct to say Detroit wouldn’t be a chocolate city anymore. Only a black person could talk about such issues.
” Detroit could become in really short order, one of the great American cities again,” Bush said then. “Now it would look different, it wouldn’t be Polish...But it would be just as powerful, just as exciting, just as dynamic. And that’s what immigration does and to be fearful of this, it just seems bizarre to me.”
It would be a different country, not Detroit. Unrestricted immigration among a group of people resistant to assimilation is not immigration but an invasion plain and simple.
Bush is insane and if he thinks we are going to vote for him after saying such a ridicules thing hes nuts.
It would become a Latino “caliphate” that would never assimilate to our culture. Kind of like Paterson, NJ or south central L.A.
“Fathead intimates that these snakes who crawl across our borders spreading epidemics can somehow rekindle Detroit to greatness.”
...yeah...just like they have done in the countries they are fleeing. Most of these people make the most ignorant and unskilled US citizens look like Mensa candidates.
EPIC FAIL
As much as I detest illegal immigration and our current legal immigration regime, and as much as I therefore oppose Jeb’s candidacy, I have to credit his consistency, ie approving of both legal and illegal immigration. By contrast, it makes little sense to say, as many do, that they love legal immigration and only oppose illegal. Legal and illegal immigrants come from pretty much the same demographics, and both have the same net effect, ie swamping America’s historical and cultural majority. The addition of illegal immigration serves only to get us to the same destination faster.
We need not only to deport all illegals, but drastically reduce legal immigration, as well.
“Hi, I’m Jeb Bush, and I want to commit an act of love on you.”
As if GH and GW weren’t bad enough.. I can only imagine what the GP version will be!
Jeb Bush: We will lose our liberties if we control the border>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The idiot just lost 35% of his base. He thinks he can win an election that way? Buahahahahahahahahaha!
He just made sure that 35% of the Republican base stays home on election day, and like a fool, he thinks that moderate democrats will switch and vote for him?
What and idiot. WAKE UP JEB! There are no more moderate democrats, the grasshoppers have morphed into a plague of locusts. There are no middle, undecided voters, the nation is polarized.
Jeb is not bedding with the righteous.
Jeb has already lost the election, so HE HAS to lose the nomination.
Nominate Ted Cruz!
+1
True capitalism was instrumental in building up this country, and Crony capitalism is instrumental in tearing this country down.
This country has come full circle, I'd say. Americans need to take a lesson from their forebears.
It won't take an armed revolution this time, but it's going to take something a whole lot stronger than voting, to restore this country.
