NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams admitted Wednesday he was not aboard a helicopter hit and forced down by RPG fire during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, a false claim that has been repeated by the network for years.
Williams himself repeated the claim Friday during NBCs coverage of a public tribute at a New York Rangers hockey game for a retired soldier that had provided ground security for the grounded helicopters. In an interview with Stars and Stripes, he said he had misremembered the events and was sorry.
The admission came after crew members on the 159th Aviation Regiments Chinook that was hit by two rockets and small arms fire told Stars and Stripes that the NBC anchor was nowhere near that aircraft or two other Chinooks flying in the formation that took fire. Williams arrived in the area about an hour later on another helicopter after the other three had made an emergency landing, the crew members said.

They have brow specialists. I’m sure.
Probably a drunken run down a snowy trail as a yout’.. And he nailed a tree.
“I think he dodged sniper fire with Hillary also.”
I don’t think HItlary has ever “dodged” anything except maybe a bullet from the husband/boyfriend of one of her husband’s “rape victims.” Either that or an errant dildoe.
I hear she dodged a mantle once.. But not the second time. :-)
He recants. He was a bit frugal with the truth seeing how liberals don’t lie, they dis-remember.
I’m shocked———an overpaid “journalist” lied?
.
“I was watching my daughter get her salad tossed when I suddenly remembered I wasn’t in a helicopter crash!”
What liars these people are!
Bump
It was seared in his memory. And then it wasn't.
He and Jean F. Kerrie' should have a good time swapping their war stories over some Chardonnay and brie...
I hope this spreads far and wide amongst military folks.
I can imagine him interviewing a Veteran on live TV and out of the blue, the Vet asks, “So, how is misremembering something, like, saying that you were shot down in a helicopter, when it never happened NOT a lie?”
no more involvement in Middle Eastern civil wars....
“Williams just got confused. He was in that plane with Hillary that had to spiral to a landing because it was under fire.”
If that chikens—t Williams had ever been actually under fire he would still be using tweezers to find his willie.
A well known fact. That’s why I NEVER watch NBC Nightly Propaganda.
Misremembered? I sure as hell would remember being in a helicopter that almost got shot down.
Guess he went to the Hillary Clinton School of Misremembering War Zone Events.
What a pathetic little lying weasel.
Of course, he lies nightly for a living.
“Its a reserved liberals only word, like using misspoke instead of lied.”
Yeah! Like I “misimpregnated” my girlfriend.
Yes, I saw that clip on infinity’s “On Demand”.
It reminded me of Nazi propaganda.
BW would have been an excellent little Nazi.
>>Yeah! Like I misimpregnated my girlfriend.
Nah. More like “I misimpregnated that girl who passed out at a frat party.” That’s a proper liberal use of the word.
America has actual heroes in the military. Everyone who serves is honored. And, we have special heroes, such as those with PTSD from their service, other disabled vets,
Purple Heart, bronze star, silver star, DFC, DSC, Medal of Honor winners, those with a combination of those honors, and exceptional others like Chris Kyle.
Pretenders like John Kerry, Brian Williams, and Hillary Clinton have to make up their heroics. Their claim to fame is based on shame and disgrace.i
