NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams admitted Wednesday he was not aboard a helicopter hit and forced down by RPG fire during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, a false claim that has been repeated by the network for years.
Williams himself repeated the claim Friday during NBCs coverage of a public tribute at a New York Rangers hockey game for a retired soldier that had provided ground security for the grounded helicopters. In an interview with Stars and Stripes, he said he had misremembered the events and was sorry.
The admission came after crew members on the 159th Aviation Regiments Chinook that was hit by two rockets and small arms fire told Stars and Stripes that the NBC anchor was nowhere near that aircraft or two other Chinooks flying in the formation that took fire. Williams arrived in the area about an hour later on another helicopter after the other three had made an emergency landing, the crew members said.

“Yeah, Bryan, shooting down Richthofen over San Juan Hill was seared into my memory too. Did I tell you about the time me and Billy Mitchell took off from the deck of the Bismark to bomb Carthage?”
Very well done! I’m sure if that liar Williams read that, he wouldn’t understand a bit of it.
“Do those lying democratic bastards ever tell the truth?”
NO.
Never mind about printing the article. Found a way to do it.
However, I read William’s account of the incredibly large sandstorm (it was actually blood red at times) that brought all American troop movements (3rd ID) to a halt for nearly three days.
While Williams sat inside a Chinook during the storm (and I have nothing against him for during this), my son and his buddies stood watch on the tops of their trucks and on the ground (wearing night-visor googles), looking out for Iraqi ground attacks.
While his section of the 100 mile long convoy wasn’t attacked, other sections were and it has been reported that they killed hundreds, if not thousands of attacking enemy troops who they spotted with their night-vision googles before they could fire.
I got some of my information on the storm including incredible photos thru a legal colleague of mine(TDY’d to our agency) who had access to Centcom’s unclassified communiques and shared them with me. Our men and women did an incredibly good job under very harsh combat conditions.
My son and others ate one meal a day, the calorie-laden MREs which were perfectly designed for just such a combat environment.
Just thought you might like to hear some real human interest stories about Iraq because of the crap the leftists have spewed about our troops over the years.
It’s a gross comment but even grosser that she does it and he watches the show.
is little Brian Hitlery’s long lost brother?? Misremembered..yeah, okay.
No consequence whatsoever, eh? It figures.
The NBC networks must be so proud, employing both Al Sharpton and Brian Williams.
One liar owes millions in back taxes and the other can smell around corners.

Typical lying reporter. Typical lying leftist. Wait, same thing.
I never listen to Mr. Williams and never will settle for his falsehoods like millions of Americans do.
Misremembered = make believe.
No!.. all liberals simply "misremember" or they "misspoke".
Lying is not part of the LIBERAL playbook.
Don't YOU misremember that one time when your helicopter wasn't shot down over enemy territory by an RPG?
Doesn't EVERYONE 'misremember' that?
The media doesn't even bother to hide the outlandish bullshit anymore. We're doomed.

So Williams is a liar...

I’ve never believed anything he has said. He’s the same as all other libtard news readers... he lies.
