Some of the most influential players in big-money conservative politics gathered late last month to discuss governments role in society, but their focus kept shifting to a less weighty topic: Rand Pauls outfit. The Kentucky senator and prospective GOP presidential candidate whose libertarian politics mesh with those of the billionaire megadonor brothers Charles and David Koch appeared at the annual winter meeting of the Koch donor network wearing a boxy blue blazer, faded jeans and cowboy boots.

I like Rand Paul, but i want an adult running the show
where is Donald rumsfeld?
By being Rand Paul.
Rand Paul. All hat and no cattle.
You would think the Koch brothers being the big money behind the libertarian wing of the GOP, Rand would of a hit a home run there.
There. Fixed it.
This is a step up for Rand - he came to CPAC last year in the same off the rack poorly fitting blue blazer, faded jeans, and GAY looking CLOGS!
And he’s like 5 foot nothing.
The writer mentioned more than once Paul’s noninterventionist policies.
Those policies were well displayed by his father in the last debates, as well as NO counterpoint to his father’s outcry that America ‘deserved’ 9/11.
This Paul’s comment about the ‘embargo not working’, in regards to Communist Cuba, tells me that he really has no clue about the history of the embargo, or of Cuba, period.
The Kochs are going to do what they’re doing to do, as they always do. No one else knows at this point what that will be.
This was Politico. They never say ANYTHING complimentary about the Koch brothers. And they are biased when it comes to wealthy businessmen - who they always portray as narrow minded.
But that does not stop the talking heads from making $hit up anyway.
Rand Paul belongs in the Senate. That’s where running your mouth is almost the entire job description, along with fund-raising and getting re-elected, both of which involve more than a fair amount of running your mouth. His only value in a Presidential campaign will be as a means of highlighting a couple of issues on which he is particularly good. He has a role to play in 2016, but it’s not as QB.
UNLESS those wealthy businessmen are Harvey Weinstein, Facebook Zuckerburg, or a ton of other alto-wealthy, high tech/entertainment company, democratic party donating “businessmen” who just want a little tit-for-tat crony capitalism and a way to make themselves feel good about having money ‘cause they support undocumented workers (that they can exploit), communists, polar bears, the rainforest, etc., etc...
Sorry for the long sentence!
I could care less if he was wearing a dago T and khakis.
This whole image crap is garbage. Marketing to make a lousy product look good is why we keep voting in slickness, hip and cool.
That being said, as a former supporter and fan of Rand, he showed me the man he is when he met with the leaders of the Ferguson racist agitators and agreed with their grievances.
Rand is a panderer.
Consider the source.
Rand Paul, a big turd in a small punch bowl.
