Gov. Scott Walker is praising fellow Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan for the congressman's role in broking a bipartisan budget bill that's been blasted a by number of conservatives.

Walker said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that Ryan provided strong leadership on the bill that passed the House Thursday and awaits Senate action.

RE:”That’s why he signed the ultra-sound bill, defunded planned parenthood who has shut clinics in Wisconsin?
........ Now, what clinics has Cruz closed? Cero!”

You miss the point.

Any Republican who beats the Dems at anything is obviously a sellout.

We need someone who is so perfect that they never beat Dems at anything.

Its not about accomplishments, its about blaming for losing.

Our guy's job is to blame, not win.

I’m not going to get drawn into a match. Walkers executive experience as governor and how he stood up to the unions are two reasons.

Is Walker pro abortion?

No, he signed the ultra-sound bill in Wisconsin, the Republicans in that state have shut down clinics for planned parenthood whom they have defunded. That is a grade a lie.

Even Chris Cristie has shut down clinics in New Jersey, Rick Perry has, that Ohio Governor probably has been a faithful pro-lifer and Senator Ted Cruz, has shut down Cero, Amigo.

And Walker has all sorts of pro-life endorsements. Unions and Democrats hate Walker, any trick they'd probably try.

Oh, are you saying Ted Cruz didn't endorse Romney??

No, I'm not saying that at all, but Ted Cruz sure didn't press the flesh and slobber all over Mitt like Walker did.

Fair enough. I've acknowledged both of those achievements in past comments. It's just my feeling that, at this point in our nation's history, we need someone who's more than just a competent manager of government. We need a leader with the sort of vision and bravery that harkens back to the Framers.

I only see one such person in the running for President in 2016, and that's Ted Cruz.

I can guarantee you he isn’t for baby killing. In 2011 he signed a bill that made budget cuts and does not allow for state funding for women’s clinics that provide abortions. Many clinics are closed. I’m not sure of the exact number in the state so far. I’m from WI, love Walker as my governor but prefer Cruz for prez. There are several reasons for this. One is that Walker is weak on immigration. I have been following his evolving statements since he has decided to run for POTUS.

To be fair, I do not think he is in favor of a blanket amnesty but he IS in favor of a pathway to citizenship. That would include giving citizenship to illegals as long as in his words “they go to the back of the line”. While some claim he would shut down borders if you do a search of Walker on FR you will find both written and video links of Walker talking about not even needing border security if the laws were better. He believes our immigration system is broken. He has recently written Mexico to request a Mexican consulate in WI.

He has been squishy with his immigration comments and has not specified a policy yet but his comments are worrying.

I remember him criticizing Cruz for shutting down the government and he has stated that conservative republicans should not be trying to primary out encumbant republicans (rinos).

http://hotair.com/archives/2014/01/06/scott-walker-to-tea-partiers-lets-focus-on-taking-out-democrats-not-our-fellow-republicans/

Is he pro 2nd amendment? Sure but with conditions. He sided with the democrats requiring training and permits. He also signed a domestic abuse law that allows for people who have had police calls for domestic abuse surrender their guns. Not everyone agreed that this bill was a good idea.

http://www.southmilwaukeenow.com/blogs/communityblogs/255801131.html

He was originally for Common Core when he became governor but after pressure from conservatives changed his mind. However recently he has back-pedaled a bit on it and decided that each school should make their own choice in that regard.

http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2015/jan/16/scott-walker/scott-walkers-shifting-position-common-core-educat/

He favors repeal of Obamacare but he is for replacing it with something else.

Now I’m sure I will be accused of smearing Walker. People have to decide on their own how conservative the guy really is. Poke around a bit on FR and the internet before you have to make a decision. I would say from statements and actions he is more of a Paul Ryan, Reince Priebus type of Republican. That’s just my opinion.

I voted for the 3 times. I like him as our governor and I would vote for him again. As POTUS, he is not my first choice and somewhere between Cruz and Bush.

I also like Cruz very much. A Walker-Cruz or Cruz-Walker ticket would be a winner.

I hope you would vote for Walker against Hitlery, for instance.

“Walker has black hair and lots of it”

Uh, he has a sizable bald spot on the back of his head. It’s hard to see from the front because he it is not the usual place you expect but if you saw a photo from the back it is very noticable. I don’t care if a guy is bald. That isn’t on my radar.

Walker was asked about his bald spot not too long ago and there was a bit of a stir about his response. He said he starting balding there after he cut his head.

Here is a pic and an article. It’s very silly actually. I guess they couldn’t come up with much of anything else.

No, I'm not saying that at all, but Ted Cruz sure didn't press the flesh and slobber all over Mitt like Walker did.

An endorsement is an endorsement.

Also, seeing how Walker was the Governor of the State, he supported his party. Cruz wasn't even a Senator then. Walker should not be penalized for helping his own party, in fact, I'd think less of him for not doing it. Rep. Paul Ryan is from Wisconsin, I don't agree with Ryan on all issues, I do where Ryan said he believes life starts at conception. Walker had to be a team player.

You can dislike that, I know the world is all fouled up and yes, Romney's foreign policy would have been better and lives would have been saved instead of ISIS springing into the picture. Walker did the correct thing unless someone is for Obama. Cruz did the correct thing unless someone is for Obama.

Hope for a perfect candidate and one ends up getting nothing.

Besides, Walker has his accomplishments. Oh, cut and paste photos of Walker with Romney.

I could vote for Cruz, I'm probably for him over Walker even but I support both. Cruz largely says a lot of things Rush Limbaugh has been saying.

Now, what is Cruz's signature legislation he has passed? That Bill to give residency to illegals? Is that it?? No, I don't think that passed.

It is hard to say he even said there should be a path to citizenship. JSOnline

But Walker's actual comments - made in a webcast with Politico in D.C. - were ambiguous on what has been the most contentious question in the broad immigration debate: the status of millions of people living in the U.S. illegally. Walker never mentioned citizenship in his comments.

As for an embassy in Wisconsin, the current one is in Chicago for 3 million people. I think all he said was why should one have to travel to Chicago to do business there? They already send out temporary workers to do embassy business in rural Wisconsin. I'm not sure if that is unreasonable.

Fired off a letter to Rush's private email about this Josh, probably a Union-Stooge spreading falsehoods as well.

Walker has not been clear on immigration, yet, at the same time, these were just remarks taken out of some interview. A bit offhanded, not a formal policy yet.

Walker had to be a team player.

Wrong!

Walker should have rejected Mitt Romney for the same reasons that all conservatives of good conscience and fitness of mind rejected that man.

Mitt supported almost the entirety of the left-liberal agenda that's destroying this country throughout his tenure as Governor of Massachusetts. It's in his record, and cannot be denied. It's an abysmal stain on his character that was created by him, long before he ever considered running for President.

If Scott Walker is to be trusted with carrying out a conservative agenda for America, then there's no way on God's green earth that he would have swallowed his principles and wholeheartedly given his support to such an abject traitor to those things that made this country great.

Mitt Romney had a record in public office that would make a liberal Democrat blush with pride. He only became our nominee through incredible political gamesmanship and the backing of those who have incredible power and wealth, but the conscience of snakes. He stepped on far better men (and women) to get where he did.

Yes, in the final hour, with nowhere left to turn, and Obama poised to recieve another four years to destroy our republic, most Republicans struck their colors and gave Mitt the nod. It was a shameful act on the part of millions who knew better. In my view, we're all being punished for that sin.

But, some Republicans did so while holding their noses, while others did so in glee. Scott Walker didn't pinch his nose, as the photos show.

If Walker's the last man standing, of course he has my vote over Hillary.

I don't think Walker's a bad guy, but I strongly suspect that he's not the staunch conservative that Ted Cruz is, which is what we need, going into 2016.

Don't debate like a child. I've explained everything about my thoughts to you in detail. Do me the courtesy of treating this like an adult conversation.

Again - the difference between Scott Walker and Ted Cruz in the 2012 election, was that Cruz (like many conservatives) resigned himself to endorsing the 'last man standing', while Walker enthusiastically supported Romney (as the photos and reports from the time show).

There is a huge and fundamental difference in how those two men handled that historic moment, and it sheds a great deal of insight into their respective characters.

Did you read the article? Walker LIKES Ryan's despicable budget that undermined conservative efforts in the HOR. Walker's awful in supporting the invasion of the US. He has a plan to redirect a tax to fund a stadium.

I see him as a RINO dream. He has no DC voting record, so he can invent how he would vote on things. Is he "Plan B" if Jeb and Christie can't get enough support?
