Police armed with pistols in heavily gun-controlled European countries are realizing a hard lesson fast–jihadists with no respect for the law are side-stepping gun control and stockpiling weapons that will give them the upper hand in confrontations with officers.
Europol chief of staff Brian Donald says there were two “large seizures” of firearms–particularly “assault weapons”–over the last two weeks and more seizures are expected as investigations and tracking continues.

Oh boo hoo; that’s so sad; or maybe its not so sad, IF they admit (1) its not any gun that’s guilty but the person behind it and their ill intent with it, and (2) the criminals can always get guns; gun control does not stop them, because there is always the people and the means by which the criminal can and will get around any gun control.
In Pakistan’s tribal areas, you’ve long had people MAKING guns, like the AK-47, using tools any Frenchman could buy.

The honest folk find themselves mostly armed with cricket bats and chair legs. Unlikely more than a handful have anything approaching the civilian version of the AR-15 or even a Ruger Mini-14 (excepting the Swiss of course).

I prefer the term “state-sponsored terrorists.” It more accurately reflects their inherent cowardice and their inability to stand toe-to-toe in a firefight against men armed with rifles.

Back in the 60’s I can recall seeing a Federal gas gun, or a shotgun carried above the driver side doors of many patrol cars.
Heck yeah. Works just as well there as it does here in keeping bad people from obtaining weapons. Oh, never mind.

I have already discussed UK/European civilian weapon laws and facts/numbers, as well as UK/European police arms, on several threads.
LOL! Good morning. I knew you might make some statement. Hope all is well across the pond. Possibly some folks haven’t seen your corrections to some, uh, inaccuracies.
I read recently that it is estimated that France has over 20 million illegal firearms...in a country of 66 million people. If true, then either a lot of Frenchmen are law breakers, or the new Mujahid population is ready for war.
