The headline would be more accurate if it simply said House GOP leaders cave

House GOP Leaders Cave ....

I don’t know how many times I’ve read that headline, regardless of the topic.

I’m bloody sick of it.

Every conservative has to ask himself what he’s doing supporting the party of no principles. Isn’t that what we’re supposed to oppose?

Rare? Who is this author trying to kid? This is just more plantation politics from the gop faction of the uniparty.

The basic principles of plantation politics seem to be:(1) never, ever, ever pass a law or take an action that reduces your power. (2) don’t actually solve a problem or deliver too much to your base. Parcel it out slowly; you want to keep the suckers coming back for more.

>> No, they need to get 218 CONSERVATIVES in office. We’re getting very close

Damn straight. Thanks for pointing that out.

The GOP-e is weak, and it can only survive through the deception it’s not.

The Gop is really showing themselves this week.

Big Time! To all Tennessee GOP Congress who voted for Boehner this time KMCA. Karl must be working Triple Time these past few months too. Boehner needs to go. He's a lot worse than Pelosi because that Crying Drinking Clown is having the GOP doing all her & Obama's dirty work for them with an deliberate vengeance. The GOP is a party of Lost Cause and now No Hope. It can't be fixed from within. Whig It into oblivion and be done with it for the sake and survival of this nation.

Rape and incest should not be reasons to abort a child. They are still creations of God and deserve the right to life.

“How many just sent the Arch RINO back to lead them.”

This seems to be the slowest part of any revolution. I took us over a decade in Texas to finally purge the old guard Republicans that were Governor and especially Lt. Governor. Our governor now seems much more conservative than Perry (Perry was all over the place - we’ll see with Abbott, but he does sound better), while our Lt. Governor may well be the most conservative person at that level of state government in the country...just yesterday he ended “64 years of tradition” by setting new State Senate rules that prevent Democrats from blocking bills...they’re powerless now.

Boener very nearly lost his re-election...and he seems to know that, and is not acting quite the same as before. But we’ll see, but yes, he still needs to go - he does not represent the core of the party there.

“Damn straight. Thanks for pointing that out.”

Yea, people are understandably angry and it’s easy to label the entire Republican Party as crappy because some 15% of them are wobbly, to various degrees. But there does come a point that wobbly Republicans are either primary’d out or Republicans pick up enough Democrat seats that they don’t need the votes of the wobbly ones.

...and don’t forget, 2 years ago Eric Cantor was the NUMBER 2 REPUBLICAN in the country, ready to inherit Boener’s seat as Speaker in a few years. Now he’s pushing daisies in K-Street while Dave Brat, his Republican replacement for his Virginia House seat, voted AGAINST Boener for Speaker. Cantor was not only about to ram the Senate Amnesty bill down our throats, he was also working closely (and quietly) with Democrats to pass legislation invalidating the recent Supreme Court ruling on the Voting Rights Act...which, in effect, would have given Eric Holder veto power over our right to require Voter ID here in Texas (a veto that he had always used in the past). Cantor was REALLY BAD NEWS to this country...but he’s gone.

It just take time...

Both of you are quite, and sadly, correct.
