“Damn straight. Thanks for pointing that out.”
Yea, people are understandably angry and it’s easy to label the entire Republican Party as crappy because some 15% of them are wobbly, to various degrees. But there does come a point that wobbly Republicans are either primary’d out or Republicans pick up enough Democrat seats that they don’t need the votes of the wobbly ones.
...and don’t forget, 2 years ago Eric Cantor was the NUMBER 2 REPUBLICAN in the country, ready to inherit Boener’s seat as Speaker in a few years. Now he’s pushing daisies in K-Street while Dave Brat, his Republican replacement for his Virginia House seat, voted AGAINST Boener for Speaker. Cantor was not only about to ram the Senate Amnesty bill down our throats, he was also working closely (and quietly) with Democrats to pass legislation invalidating the recent Supreme Court ruling on the Voting Rights Act...which, in effect, would have given Eric Holder veto power over our right to require Voter ID here in Texas (a veto that he had always used in the past). Cantor was REALLY BAD NEWS to this country...but he’s gone.
It just take time...
Spot on and the other side is that we need to dominate the thoughtspace. You do that in the media via conservative populism. You have to focus on an issue and satirize the other side’s position to death. You have to make anyone with an ounce of intelligence embarrassed to hold that position.
We’re winning and I don’t know why FReepers cannot see that. We’ve made enormous strides against the natural flow of power and money. There’s a trillion dollars against us and we continue to win.
