Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) says two years of free college is really so important to the security of the United States of America.
[Snip]
Rangel goes on to explain, Even though we are very pleased with the economic growth that we have - no one can deny that our middle class is hurting and its very difficult for them to make ends meet on their salaries.
The cost of living has shot up but the diversity between, uh, the disparity between the rich and the poor is something we have to overcome. Education just as the G.I. Bill did it- is the only answer to close this gap.

... and a Juco education is just the ticket to living the American dream like tax-cheat Charlie!
The liberal mindset never ceases to amaze me.
Free college gave us barry and wookie.
Sorry Chuckster. Two years of free Marxist programing of our young skulls full of mush does nothing to improve our security you jughead. If anything, it hurts the security of the United States of America. Get your head out of your .... you moron.
Yes, without those Black and Gender Studies experts our nation is toast.
Levin is apoplectic on this move to federalize state community colleges— the last schools they DONT control as yet.
Never dawns on libs that they should 1.)lower the tuition, 2.)lower the salary of “tenured” profs 3.) eliminate tenure and enact competitive results based quality instruction, and 4.) Stop the publish perish perpetual grant sucking program of most public and private schools.
EVERYTHING has gone up is no longer valid when one looks at the cost of education— it is way out of line with any normal economics, and intentionally so. College is NOT for everyone. Re-instill technical schools. Wish for myself had had a little tech in electrical engineering.
A government that is big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take everything you have............................
Define “free” you progressive tax-welching slob.
Hey dumbsh*t,
Please spew your stupidity elsewhere, you race baiting POS.
Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps a great deal more important to 'The Security' of the U.S. is this Rangle disappearing from public existence. Then the US would be Free of Rangle.
Now granted, Brown is not the BEST Ivy league school, but it is very difficult to get into.
Can you imagine your child, studying for years to do well in school. They score well on the SAT and are accepted at Brown. They decide to major in "Women's Studies." Four years later, and about $60,000 per year in tuition later...and they are not even qualified for a job at Target.
Pitiful.
Just what Weepy John needs to distract the country from the pathetic GOP push for amnesty. Obama says something and the republican leadership jumps up and down, does nothing, then moves on to the next Obama induced hysterics. The media and democrats will call republicans every nasty name in the book and attack them on anything. Now, they will be “waging a war on education” or a “war on college students” or a “war on poor because CC caters to the poor.” All the usual nonsense. Take on illegal immigration and seal the damn border so low income CC students can afford the $1000 a year it costs.
Rep. Rangel needs to rally Congress to propose a college tuition amendment to the Constitution to the states. And if the states choose to ratify his amendment then Congress will have the constitutional authority that it needs to pay for intrastate college tuition and Rep. Rangel will be a hero.
how many morons are there in the country that don’t even bother to finish FREE High School? If you want to go to community college, it is cheap enough to GET A JOB AND PAY FOR IT.
I’ll take two free years at Harvard. :)
I see your Gender studies at Brown and raise you Poverty Studies at Furman University!!

Can you imagine coming home and telling your parents you are getting your degree in Poverty Studies?
Excuse me? I thought, Mr. Beach Bum Rangel, that Obama's economy was working wonders for the country.
According to Rangel, so is resumption of the draft.
