A man was kneeling in prayer before the statue of the revered Madonna, with the photograph of a loved one in hand, in the small chapel of St. Barnabas in Perugia (Italy), when he was attacked by five immigrants.
The first thing they did was rip the photo from his hands.
Next they unleashed their hatred against the image of the Virgin Mary. They broke the statue to pieces and then urinated on it.
Don Scarda, pastor of St. Barnabas, said the event was led byfive foreigners. By the time police arrived at the chapel, the unidentified attackers had already fled.
The incident has caused a stir among locals. Some have lambasted Pope Francis who is accused of appeasing immigrantsmostly Muslimsto wild extremes. Earlier he had said that Migrants, through their own humanity, cultural values, expand the sense of human brotherhood.
Although the Diocese condemned the act of sacrilege against the Madonna statue, it also followed the Popes lead by absolving Islam of any responsibility for what happened.

What else is there to forgive?
If we don't, they will turn this planet into hell.
I’m unclear what point you are trying to make with what seems like a copy/paste from some source.
Do you think that our being forgiven removes our sinful nature, so that we can declare ourselves righteous? Paul was pretty clear that instead, grace imparts Christ’s righteousness to us. God counts us as righteous, not because we are righteous, but because ours sins are covered by Christ’s blood. Yet, even so, we still all sin and fall short of the glory of God.
Note this important passage from Romans 3 which speaks of grace and righteousness. Each time that “righteousness” is mentioned, it is God’s righteousness that is spoken of, not that of believers:
“21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”
Indeed.
” He told us to forgive our enemies.”
Which verses are you referring to?
It’s up to God to win this war so I suggest He get to it
Urine contains DNA. If they can’t match it right now, they will likely be able to match it in the future.
Do I really need to give a citation for the Lord’s prayer?
I’d be happy to, but I would hope that wouldn’t be necessary amongst Christians.
Are they so irrationally fearful of islam and its followers that that will forgive it anything? What a bunch of doormat, lie down and be stomped on islamophobes. There I’ve used islamophobe in the correct context.
Cite the verses.
Post them.
One of my favorite writers, Jerry Pournelle, has been saying this for years:
“Liberalism is a philosophy of consolation for Western Civilization as it commits suicide.”

Wish we had an HONEST show of hands of those FReepers giggling and high-fiving the muzzies for this one. (”Lookie there, them A-Rabs done told them papists what-fer!”)
Let’s don’t even pretend they haven’t.

Oooh! That will have the filthy savages shaking in their boots!
Sounds like that church needs an armed guard.
Love it!
Prayers up for the Crusaders!
Well, why not? Fast or slow they'll kill all of you if you don't stop this insanity.
God and the security cameras are watching. They will reap their own reward, whatever it may be.
There wasn’t a single negative comment about Catholics here. Couldn’t resist?
If you insist:
“12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:12-15
