But a university plan to sound the prayer call from the Duke University Chapel’s 210-foot bell tower for the first time was hastily called off Thursday in the face of anti-Islamic tirades on social media and what a school official described as credible concerns about security.
Instead, the call to prayer, or adhan, was sounded in Arabic and English on Friday from a small portable speaker set up on the chapel steps. Many among the hundreds of students who gathered condemned Duke’s about-face and demanded more religious tolerance.
The private university, founded by Methodists, intended the broadcast as a gesture of the school’s commitment to religious diversity. Instead, it exposed a religious fault line.

Duke wouldn’t exist without its Christian founders. It used to uphold American values and the judeo- Christian faith tradition. Letting peaceable foreigners in - ok. However, No college needs or benefits from letting in islamicists/Moslems —whose “religion” is replete with exhortations to invade, attack, conquor, subjugate, or kill Christians, Jews, and other innocent peoples. They’re the only visible group dedicated to destroying us. Send them back to Krapistan. That’s being “humanitarian” about it. Arm yourself well to defend yourself and family and neighbors until we get a loyal American president who will do what needs doing
“Many” think mosque should play Christmas music in December to honor Christians... and show a love of diversity.
Maybe David Zucchino of the
LA Times can write a piece on it... and interview people showing Muslims who object are xenophobic... That would be a true ‘man bites dog’ story.
I'm going to guess that not a single one of these "students who gathered" have a real major that requires lots of study i.e. engineering, architecture, computer science or pre-med, or works several jobs to put themselves through school, both of which gives them oodles of time to fill up their empty lives with outrage and protesting.
I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Yes, five times a day, from a mosque near my office on the Marmara University campus in Istanbul. Sounded like someone in agony. Well, I decided I could pray The Lord's Prayer when the call to prayer came. It made a good reminder.

They have 700 Muslilms attending the school. So, if they rounded up all the Muslims, they could claim “many attended” — and the claim would be meaningless.

Worse...it evidences that there is no pushback to the dark side overtaking this country now.

We are entering a dark time for this country as none know how to stop this invasion....and in part it’s because this nation has abandoned the God of the Bible....and continues to do so.
The only thing which will stop this is by this nation returning to the God of the Bible and that’s just not likely to happen now that there are so many foreigners in this country fast and rapidly taking over.
