Everything is not awesome in Oscars-land.
The Academy Awards snubbed The Lego Movie Thursday morning, denying the brick flick a nomination for Best Animated Picture. Lego Movie co-director Phil Lord responded to the snub on Twitter with perfect, plastic grace.

Instead of trying to play the VICTIM card, this director put on his grown up britches.
Unlike some other Hollywood whiners.

Uh-oh. The Academy’s lawyers will be showing up soon to sue him for making a facsimile of an Oscar. We all know how much they love freedom of expression... as long as it’s expressing violence, sadism and perversion.

Black actors have been nominated for and won Oscars in the past. And with or without Obama-BFF Sharpton's ravings, black actors will no doubt win nominations and awards in the future.
But now, any black nominations/wins are going to be tainted and massively devalued by questions of tokenism and political deference.
Good job Al. You just created the Negro Film Awards.

I watched the Lego Movie and it was better than many Academy Award winners I’ve seen in the past.

It is one of my family's favorite movies. I've watched it more than a dozen times. There is always something new I see.
It helps that I'm one of those fanatic Lego people. I could imagine being the Dad, I remember doing a train layout and telling the kids they had to stop doing silly things, before I remembered that this is what Lego is all about.
This is a picture of a small part of my Family's Lego Train display that we did several years at our local town's railway festival:
