(CNN) For months, 20-year-old Christopher Lee Cornell had been on the FBI's radar. Authorities said he left alarming posts on social media, talking about violent jihad.

On Wednesday, agents arrested the Cincinnati, Ohio, man before he could put his alleged plot into action.

Authorities say Cornell, who ostensibly tweeted under the name Raheel Mahrus Ubaydah, hatched a simple scheme. It was similar to the Paris attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo, but at a key location -- the U.S. Capitol, said a criminal complaint filed by an FBI agent.

The plan: Set off pipe bombs to put lawmakers and employees in panicked flight and then gun them down with an assault rifle as they ran across his path and that of an accomplice, Special Agent T.A. Staderman wrote.

Cornell was ready to go, the agent said.

He’s a “peace loving mama’s boy”, according to his father. His parents probably excused every bad thing that he did, and doted on him to excess. Now society must cope with this psychopathic narcissist.

His father casts doubt on some aspects of the purchase. Cornell was unemployed and worked only seasonally for minimum wage. He was about $500 short of the money needed to make the purchase on his own.

This is the price we pay for the extended adolescence of our youth. permitting our youth idleness leaves there time and minds empty for these purveyors of violent ideologies to fill.

I also suspect that his parents were secular humanist or simply irreligious people that never instilled in him a Christian faith.

An empty soul will eventually be filled. Either with a love of God or something profoundly evil.

Funny, I 20 year old White criminal is a man, while a 20 year old Black criminal is a child. For the record I consider both a men and this one needs to be put in a dark hole all alone for a long time.

Raheel stays at home and does his pretty face, and in the evening he’s a bomber with the band. . . . .

Islam is the religion of the loser.

Other than oil, when do you buy a product from an Arab country? Never. They are too stupid and incompetent to produce a product than anyone would want to buy.

The oil is already there, and they must hire Americans or Europeans to drill and refine.

Their only product is murder.
