The train passengers calm consumption of crisps and bored checking of emails on the 11.43am to Birmingham suggested they hadnt heard the news. Their destination, a city of more than a million people, had shockingly become Britains first caliphate and a no-go zone for non-Muslims at least, according to an expert on Rupert Murdochs US-based Fox News channel.
There are actual cities like Birmingham that are totally Muslim where non-Muslims just simply dont go in, Steve Emerson, a commentator on terrorism, told millions of viewers on Sunday.
Raja Mohammed Ishtiaq, co-owner of the Raja Brothers grocery set up in 1977 by Pakistani immigrants, said Emersons comments were embarrassing and insulting. We are not in cuckoo land, he said. There are lots of Muslims here but this is a multicultural society and there are beautiful links between the different religions. How can they say this? Birmingham is one of the stable communities.
A few doors down, the Lahore restaurant specialising in cuisine from Pakistans Taliban-controlled north-west frontier region welcomes a mixed crowd. Sitting beneath a picture of the Pakistani cricketer turned politician Imran Khan, a white 31-year-old civil servant who asked not to be named said he came here daily for lunch, and sometimes dinner too.
As he polished off his kebab, his message was simple: It is not a no-go area and theres nothing to suggest it is becoming one.

And were educated and cared for there......courtesy of the frikkin’ high taxes.
If they don’t allow comments, they are worth zip.
EXACTLY.
Hope you had a good New Year and Christmas.

We could do three: (1) muslim guy; (2) typical British guy and (3) Jewish guy.
Love to see the result.
“And if the result isnt as violent and bigoted as you think?.”
Then we’ll know the answer.
Having tested this myself accidentally on the tube more than a few times, I think my hypothesis is sound.
But Muslims did this a lot at NASCAR rallies throughout the South USA and were disappointed to find NASCAR people are open and accepting, so we could be surprised.
I know. I was raised around Scots all my life. My people were Irish. In the slang of the British Isles do know what a ‘’bum’’ is?
Yes, lol.
And as an actual Brit, who knows the city of Birmingham well, I think your hypothesis isn’t sound. The UK isn’t the US, Birmingham isn’t Dearborn or a Paris ghetto.
I am afraid you’d be disappointed, if you expect to see hordes of fanatic Muslims in that city bashing whites and Jews. Birmingham has been multi-racial since the 50’s, and everyone gets on well. By and large. There is a healthy Jewish population that dosent get oppressed and beaten up.
Birmingham is actually famous in the UK and Ireland not for racial problems, but for being an ugly concrete carbuncle, and having a dull horrible accent. Its lampooned for a lack of culture.
They only gave the world, Black Sabbath, The Move and ELO.
I love all three, esp The Move.
Other bands include Spencer Davis, Moody Blues, Traffic, Judas Priest, UB40, Duran Duran, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Joan Armatrading and Fine Young Cannibals. More recently bands like Ocean Colour Scene and The Streets.
I don’t and never have lampooned it, but some do. The claim is that it dosent have a definable identifiable culture, like London, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool or Belfast. I think that’s unfair. A lot of it is just London snobbery tbh.
And UB40, Cadbury, BSA, and Preston tools.
That said, Leicester city, Coventry, and London's Park Lane leading toward Paddington Station are the deepest darkest paki lands in Blighty my eyes have seen.
——We are not in cuckoo land-—
Paki land is 5 or 6 notches below cuckoo land
I lived in londontown long ago so I’m quite dated
But I like your posts
However I do think the bike cops watching Charlie were indeed unarmed
But yes most continental cops are armed
Heavily so at airports since 70s
Ass
Same in Brasil oddly
Major thong maker Bum Bum
As in Scotland !
Me old Irish granny couldn’t get enough of swatting me on it. I was a bit of a hair raiser when I was a wee one.

Does the “healthy Jewish population” go the synagogue that was vandalized to the tune of $50,000 (US) damage?

You know, the one where the three Birmingham terrorists attempted a mass murder?
Maybe they shop at Tesco in Birmingham, that was ransacked for carrying kosher goods?

Of course there is the stabbing of a little Jewish boy for being Jewish (Stamford Hill, admittedly)
http://antisemitism.org.il/article/91666/orthodox-jew-stabbed
And the stabbing murder of a child on the bus, the beatings of a woman a child (London suburb), too many to list:
Of course you know this. And yet you lie.
Do you understand the phrase by and large?. I have always said on FR that the UK does have a Muslim problem, what I and other UK freepers say is that its not the UK-threatening, Muslim conquest level people in the US think it is. No British freeper denies there is a serious problem, least of all me. So no I dont ‘lie’. What I do is try and tell you the truth, giving you a fair and genuine viewpoint without Fox/Talk radio/US hysteria.
I have also said that Birmingham has a Muslim issue (in another thread), but its a city of almost 1.1m people, most of whom DO live with each other in peace. Your own reply came up with two (appalling) instances, and another two from London. We are talking about Birmingham. London is another city and another issue and another thread.
Yes, there is a minority of extreme Muslims in the city, and yes they have caused trouble, but that dosent negate what I said. The (small) Jewish community historically has suffered no problems until recently, except for the incident you posted. As disgusting as the synagogue incident was, lets not turn this into a pogrom.
I know the city, I know how bad it is. And how bad it isn’t.
