(Hollywood police say there have been problems with adults hanging around Anniversary Park. Hollywood commissioners approved new rules last week that would require adults and anyone over the age of 13 who enter city-owned playgrounds to be in the company of a child 12 and under. If you're hanging around a playground without a child under 13, don't be surprised if a cop asks you to leave.
In a bid to protect children and the swings they play on, Hollywood commissioners agreed last week to ban adults and teens from the city's playgrounds unless they're in the company of a child age 12 or younger.

If it's a public space paid for and maintained with your taxes, you have right to be there alone.
There was a time when it was normal for adults to visit parks for enjoyment and relaxation. These knee-jerk park laws are a direct result of turning the streets into mental hospital beds, and parole halfway houses for sexual predators. And so as a result all of society is burdened with ‘rules’ fit for prisons and psychiatric wards.
Perhaps in Hollywood ... but at our playground, they are children who live in the subdivision and are simply being inconsiderate. We have suitable swings for all the children (and adults - I weigh less than my teenagers).
If older children break the baby swings, then babies can’t swing, and the residents have to pay for repairs.
I wish Chuck E Cheese had this rule.

...
The adults can still visit the park as long as there is an area other than a playground.
I took my grandkids to the park some years back - - there was a couple - man and woman in their early 40’s - making out on a bench right beside the merry-go-round. Maybe 5 feet away... with 10 - 15 young children within feet of them. They were into heavy petting - really heavy petting - and finally I went over and stated talking to other parents about how the two should ‘get a room’...
The surprise was that when they were finally shamed - they got up and left and didn’t even have a child on the playground. I guess the kids were being used as part of their sexual fantasy...
I’m sorry the world has come to this... I suspect these two liberals would know it’s not OK to use the ‘N’ word but lacked the wit to see how they were forcing their liberal filth on innocent children.
“Mostly teens are hanging out in the parks “
Are they teens or “Teens”?
I will be near this park in an hour or two when I take the dogs out. There are vile drunk homeless illegals who are aggressive to everyone around the park. I don’t doubt that pedophiles are part of the issue but I suspect that the drunks are the bigger problem.
I considered my offspring to be not children anymore at 12. Oh but they were mature home educated young men, so that’s a little different.
I disagree. Do men have a right to be in women’s restrooms? Do adults have a right to hang around elementary schools?
For those who don’t know, this is an amazing moment of clarity for South Florida as it is infected with liberals. Bravo for Hollywood; if only the one in Mexifornia had some people with brain as well!
Meanwhile, some malls are banning children (teens, youths, actually) that are unaccompanied by an adult. As they say in real estate, the rules are governed by “location, location, location.” /S
Of course the city is exempting those forbidden from parks paying the taxes to support the parks where they are not allowed. I would be pissed not being allowed to parks, which all have playgrounds here, that I am paying for. When my dog was alive I took her to the park all the time and the little kids would play with her while I could be lazy and sit on the bench. Then again I don’t live in Hollywood.
You taxpayers who paid for the parks...stay away from them.
We have a park nearby where unaccompanied adults aren’t allowed into a fenced-off playground area only; they’re free to use the rest of the much larger park. As a parent I understand; as a taxpayer I don’t agree with this policy. Let the parents build their own playgrounds then...
My son literally lived 10 feet from a park. I was visiting and watching his kids and he told me not to go to the park. Well...the kids wanted to go so I took them. So there was quite a production with a group of teenagers berating an adult for not having her dog on a leash. The adult verbally fought back and there was a lot of cussing. I just went to the teenagers and told them to stop right now that they were being rude and they actually complied.
Several days later I took them back and there were a lot of children having a great time but evidently someone wasn’t nice enough to a 3 year old?!?! who was there alone. She ran home to tell on them and her father came back and was horrible to the other children. I took the kids home and we never disobeyed again. After that we just went to McDonalds, Burger King and museums and other places that you had to pay for.
