Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney , the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, told a meeting of donors Friday that he is considering another White House bid in 2016, people present said.
The possibility of a third Romney bid could upend the emerging GOP field, coming as top Republican donors are starting to rally behind former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Fellas, FR, this website, is akin to a sparkling brook or a reflective lake. It is an ongoing reflection of human reaction and discussion among theoretically like-minded Americans. I think you mistake it for a force. You seem to want to harness it and use it to do something.
It is only a resource, a reflection, a disseminator of ideas, a place to start waves, to move the water. It is constantly shifting and changing and reflecting the voices and concerns of kindred American patriots.

FR is not a force except in that it's a reflection of what is really going on in the minds of kindred spirits, and a darned valuable and good one.

Thats strange because Jim used to say stuff all the time that FR was indeed a force to be rekoned with. And it used to be leveraged to action. It didn’t sit back and ‘reflect’ or let liberalism reflect on anything. I miss those days.
I remember reading a lot of Jims words that are every bit the polar opposite of what you posted. Namely that he never intended it to be a debate society but a tool for action and activism.
I miss that too. And I appreciate the numbers you crunched. But Having run a site myself that numbered readership in the millions for several years, the numbers are meaningless unless toy act on them. Leverage them. We had plenty of readers that were very ‘Go Romney” in their respective way. I get the ‘intracacies’ of people management.

I stood by that in 2012, by the way. I refused to vote for Romney. In August of 2012, however, FR officially stated that it would no longer be an anti-Romney platform in its activist way, so I left until after the election because I was and still am decidedly ANTI Romney and anti functional Democrat Republican. If I couldn't come on to FR and actively express ideas as a FORCE, so to speak, to convince people to FIGHT and REJECT Romney et all, to REFUSE to vote for them, then there was no point.
The only force I wield is the power of ideas and words, the power of the pen. Using that pen to complain about the existence of people who disagree with me seems a waste of time, so I instead use it to help people understand WHY voting "against" is a fallacy, etcetera.

We are. But you’ll never convince me that RINOs promoting their idiocy on FR doesn’t result in damage to conservatism AND damage to FR. And since the entire point of this place is to forward conservatism, this seems to be at cross purposes.
Norm, "we" have zero say in who wins the Republican nomination. Perhaps FR can in two short years organize people to reform the Republican Party from within and make it do an about-face in its huge primary infrastructure, but ... I am not holding my breath and I don't think anybody else should, either.
The only thing I see a benefit in is to wise-up and perceive now what is headed our way in 2016, and to anticipate already that a third-party element is conservatives' only chance at discouraging and weakening the forces of government tyranny. Thinking we can salvage the Republican party in time to avoid a Librino being nominated for the presidency, is to me, a waste of time.

What can I say but sorry I’m so slow?
I am sad to think that I might not get to vote, not that a vote for the right does much in CA anyway.
Yes actually. One working united toward the same goal. Since we are supposedly all conservatives here and conservatism is a pretty well established concept, there’s not a lot to debate and ponder. We all, as conservatives know what we want, what’s right, whats good for America and what is bad for America.
If thats isn’t true, then what are we doing to begin with?
So, being that it is true and that’s not an issue to ponder, we should be acting to move that long established agenda forward, not eternally rehashing inanities with liberals and RINOs who have no place in the conservative movement to begin with.
Now if we were in some uncharted water, I’d agree. We would be best served by debate and outside thoughts and ideas to bring perspective. But we arent in uncharted water. We KNOW people like Romney are libs. Whats to discuss about him that is not a 100% waste of time and resource?
Whats to discuss about Jeb or Rand or Bhoner or Mitch? Has conservatism devolved to the lesser of the liberals? Is that what we are about? Or are we about the values we CLAIM we hold?
We are or we are not. There is no debate. Binary.
