2,000 Feared Dead in Boko Haram Attack

More than 2,000 people are feared dead after Boko Haram destroyed “10 to 20” communities in Nigeria’s rural northeast, according to a senator from the region. “These towns are just gone, burned down,” said Ahmed Zanna. “The whole area is covered in bodies.” The radical Islamic group razed the town of Baga along with several others over the past five days. The 2,000 are unofficially unaccounted for.

WHY MUSLIMS ARE VIOLENT

This is pretty straight forward folks. There are peaceful Muslims, but there is no such thing as peaceful Islam. Violence is not an aberration in Islam—it is DOCTRINE. Dozens of passages in the Quran exhort Muslims to hate or kill or terrorize infidels (non-Muslims) wherever they find them. For examples, see Suras 2:190-193, 2:216, 2:244, 3:56, 3:142, 3:151, 4:56, 4:74 (beheading), 4:76, 4:84, 4:89, 4:91, 4:95, 4:104, 5:51, 5:32-38, 7:96-99, 8:12-15 (beheading), 8:39, 8:57-60, 8:65-67, 9:5, 9:14, 9:20-30, 9:38-41, 9:73, 9:88, 9:111, 9:123, 17:16, 18:65-81, 21:44, 22:18-22, 25:52, 33:60-62, 47:3-4 (beheading), 47:35, 48:16-17, 48:29, 61:4, and 66:8-12. These are the passages that jihadists quote in defense of their horrible atrocities. Unlike the Old Testament, violence in the Quran is mostly open-ended, that is, not restrained by the historical context of the surrounding events.

While there are passages that Muslims point to that might suggest peaceful solutions (Suras 2:190, 2:256, 5:8, 5:28, 5:32, 8:61, 29:46, 41:34, 109:6), these are overwhelmed by the violent ones. Indeed, the peaceful passages were abrogated, i.e. superseded, by the violent ones—because the violent ones were written later, after Muhammad’s move to Medina (from Mecca). Anyone who wants to commit acts of violence has perfect justification for doing so from the Quran. There is nothing in the Quran comparable to Jesus’ teachings to “turn the other cheek” and to “love your neighbor.”

You can look these passages up for yourself. Below is a site that has three translations of the Quran side-by-side. (Note: English translators of the Quran sometimes try to soften the true Arabic meaning of some of these passages. For example, to “fight” really means to kill in Arabic.)

In addition to the Quran are the hadiths. These are collections of sayings and actions of Muhammad. Indeed, Muhammad was one of the most violent men in history, setting the example for all Muslims to follow. See this link:

The current Pope is definitely the Obama of the Catholic Church. Same arrogant, autocratic style, same limited intellect and non-existent learning, and same Muslim-sycophant, leftwing, media-adoring mindset.

"same limited intellect and non-existent learning"
That would help explain my first reaction to him in this sense: religion is his business, and he should know about the other competitive religions.
But he seems to be ignorant on basic Islam.
That really shocked me. He is on the same level as George Bush and his religion of peace nonsense.

Ignorance doesn't make a person a bad person, it is just when they rise to a top position they become downright dangerous. -Tom

That’s what it’s going to take. Good piece by Daniel Henniger in the WSJ today - he said you can do all the emoting and hashtags you want, but in the end, the only thing that matters is exterminating the enemy.

Hashtags work, if they're laser engraved on a .30 caliber bullet and delivered at high speed.

“Nigeria, however, just doesn’t seem to be doing much about Boko Haram.”

It’s Africa, baby. Watch “Tears of the Sun,” with Bruce Willis.

Why didn’t the whole world join together to smash this group of mass murders, slave traders, torturers and kidnappers way back in April?

Why didn't the two thousand storm them and pluck their eyes out and stomp on them?

Sometimes got's to go medieval or eat the soup.

Nigeria is split into a mainly Christian South and a mostly Muslim North. They have significant quantities of oil but the wells are all in the South. Boko Haram operates in the North East section of the country. Between what we would consider astonishing levels of corruption, and the divided loyalties of Northern Muslims, the Nigerian Army may not always be as effective or fully armed and trained to face the challenge.

The Obama administration's unwillingness to declare Boko Haram a terrorist organization until very recently may also have interfered with a resolution to the conflict.

We are on our own.

I agree with your statements, but until we have a true leader nothing will be done. A very sad day for the West.

Why are the 12 killed splashed all around the world, but untold thousands don’t warrant a mention. What is wrong with this world that turns a blind eye to this.

I remember hearing for the first time, as a child, the history of the Holocaust. I thought, like most people do, ‘how could this happen?’ ‘Why didn't somebody stop them?’ ‘How did the world not know?’

Well, every day it seems there is another story about Islamic aggression causing the death or suffering of people at some place in the world. 100 here, 2000 there, beheadings, enslavement, genital mutilation and preventing women from getting an education, etc. This is happening in our time, during our watch. This is the Holocaust about which people in the future will ask “why didn't the world stop this?”. This will be the legacy of all the apologists.

Fox Radio News had the short story the USA refused to sell Nigeria attack helicopters because the military is corrupt. This was just yesterday.

Though I’d heard it was corrupt, I was still unsure. Now, I am believing the reports are true and the corruption in the Military is a big part of this problem.

One of their Presidential Candidates said so. I think they have elections this year. I guess they need to throw the current president, Goodluck Johnathan, out.
