Breaking: Grand Jury Recommends Charges Against PA Attorney General
PJ Media ^ | January 8, 2015 | J. Christian Adams

Posted on 01/08/2015 3:11:31 PM PST by jazusamo

A grand jury has recommended criminal charges against Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane. The grand jury found that she leaked secret grand jury information to a newspaper in an effort to smear political enemies. PJ Media has been covering Kane’s refusal to prosecute Pennsylvania Democrats who took bribes in order to oppose photo voter identification legislation in Pennsylvania. Philly News :

For about six months, Special Prosecutor Thomas E. Carluccio has been directing the grand jury as it has heard testimony from numerous witnesses, including Kane and many of her top aides, to determine how details of a long-ago investigation of a Philadelphia civil rights leader appeared in a Philadelphia Daily News article in June.

The article suggested that a former state prosecutor, Frank G. Fina, had fumbled that investigation, and the leak appeared to be designed to raise questions about his competence.

Kane had refused to pursue charges against four black legislators from Philadelphia for accepting bribes in exchange for votes. Kane had said the investigation conducted by her predecessor was racially motivated. There was no dispute that the legislators took bribes to oppose voter ID legislation. Seth Williams, the local Philadelphia district attorney and fellow Democrat, took on the case instead. His investigation led to the indictment of legislators for taking the bribes.

On behalf of the American Civil Rights Union, I testified to the Pennsylvania House last year that Kane should be impeached. State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Cranberry) has long called for Kane’s removal from office for failing to enforce the law against political allies. Today’s grand jury finding serves as vindication for Metcalfe’s efforts.

True that...Maybe requiring max sentences for misuse of office would be doable, it would certainly be appropriate.

When one aspect of this story first broke, a number of FReepers asked the question: how come this is being reported in The Philadelphia Inquirer? -- a paper more than slightly to the left of Pravda -- my response was Cui Bono?

The answer was Kathlene Kane. By leaking various aspects of the corruption investigation in a friendly outlet she was able to accomplish a number of things:

It has been clear since roughly ten minutes after her inauguration that Kathlene Kane has, in the best of situations, been in way over her head, and in the worst situations -- like this one -- been a criminal with nothing but contempt for the law and the Commonwealth she supposedly serves.

The facts in the Philadelphia corruption case are clear: both white and black politicians were offered bribes. Only black politicians took them. Both Republicans and Democrats were offered bribes. Only Democrats took them. Kathlene Kane tried to discredit this investigation by insinuating that this investigation was somehow "biased" based, not on the basis who was investigated, but on the basis of who committed the crimes.

She is a vile excuse for a person, a disgrace to her office, and a fugitive from the canon of ethics of her profession.

Her office has repeatedly used the leaks of confidential/privileged information or protected evidence to discredit her political enemies and protect her political cronies. She has actively refused to solicit on behalf of the Commonwealth, which is a duty she has sworn to uphold. She has made it clear she will refuse to uphold laws with which she disagrees. She's a grandstander, an attention-whore and a phony. She needs to be gone.

Yesterday.

Can’t wait to see her do the perp walk,in an unfashionable orange jumpsuit, like so many of her buddy criminal pols from Scranton.

Your are forgetting the power of the pen and who is going to use it for her "get out of jail card".

Thanks for your excellent post.

Hopefully she’ll be indicted, tried and convicted — She sounds most deserving of it.

She also just filed for divorce from her husband stating the marriage cannot be repaired. She definitely has problems that would deem it necessary for her to resign her position.

There's more details in this afternoon's Pittsburgh Tribune Review.

http://triblive.com/news/adminpage/7524819-74/grand-jury-attorney#axzz3OHsuKXJq

Lanny Davis, the Clinton's chief apologist and revisionist historian, has signed on as her attorney! HA!

Can we expect Horndog Bubba to show up to testify as a character witness??? LOL!!!

Thanks, Smooth.

I read a few other articles earlier and it seems Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman is not running for reelection because she’s seeking a judge seat on the bench.

Didn’t get much info on her political leanings but surmise she’s a Dem but may be wrong on that. I guess it’s completely up to her whether an indictment will follow.

Lanny Davis is a joke and she couldn’t have a more leftist lawyer representing her. It’ll be interesting to see what comes out of this.

This is a political war! The Republicans control the legislature and the Dems after Jan. 20th will have control of the Executive Branch. The courts are a mixed bag.

Fermen is a Republican, and a reputation as a tough and successful prosecutor. She may turn out to be Kane's worst nightmare.

That's great news, at least it won't be a whitewash because of a corrupt prosecutor.

I'd venture to say right about now both Kane and Davis are having nightmares.

Thanks again for your knowledge and investigative work!

Is keel hauling considered cruel and unusual punishment for her felonious activity.

I don't think so even if the ship runs aground while doing it.

“a sane Arlen Spector” ????

You mean the same Benedict Arlen Sphincter who defended the single gunman theory by pointing to the “pristine” bullet, magically “found” on Kennedy’s gurney by a band of fairies?

That same bullet was said to pass through Kennedy, the car seat, Gov. Connolly’s shoulder and wrist and then the car’s arm rest, and somehow found its way back to Kennedy’s gurney, in ‘pristine’ condition.

Yes, Sphincter said all that, but insisted it came from Lee Harvey.

Now, how could such things make that lunatic sane? He was crazier than a bedbug when I was a committee man and campaigned for that looser!

Not giving you stuff, just saying that the guy I knew wasn’t too sane, but he was all we had at the time. LOL
