Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn said he hopes his GOP colleagues hold off on a vote to fully repeal Obamacare until after Republicans have shown they can govern.
I think its important that we demonstrate that we can be productive before we have the inevitable fight over repealing Obamacare, the Texas Republican said in an interview with CQ Roll Call Wednesday. We are going to have that vote. But my own preference would be we have it after weve been able to demonstrate that we can actually get some things done.

With leadership like this...

Also, he fails to acknowledge that the repeal of Obamacare is one of the things they are supposed to be demonstrating they can actually get done.

Do the right thing whether he will veto it or not. Keep after it until you finally find a way to win. Cowering never won anybody anything.

News flash: we don’t want the GOP to “govern”. If anything, we want them to “de-govern” - to roll back the leviathan and defang or eliminate as much of the government as it can.
Not that we actually expect it to happen, of course. Not with this lot of cowards and “get along” types.

He’s fishing for 60 votes on keystone. No chance. Dems will hang together and tell Mitch & Cornyn to ESAD.

No it doesn’t, and Cornyn has been in the pocket of the U.S. Chamber for years. He will do nothing to stop amnesty, and Obamacare. His overlords demand it.

Sad...already the psychobabble excuses have begun. Hopefully Ted will embarrss him for his cowardice. If he was being strategic, he would have kept his mouth shut!

“Hold off on a vote to fully repeal Obamacare until after Republicans have shown they can govern.” In other words, never vote on repeal. No one thinks Republicans can govern, anymore.
To: roses of sharon
Republicans have shown they can govern What a POS! Like governing is so freakin hard! Governing is pretty straight forward if you have the Constitution as your guide.
Again signaling capitualation. Voting to repeal Obamacare is governing!

Now that you’ve expressed your sentiments; my limited “knowledge” of the honorable gentleman is very similar. A lot of wind and no performance other than gladhanding “across the aisle”.
