WASHINGTON For years, Harvards experts on health economics and policy have advised presidents and Congress on how to provide health benefits to the nation at a reasonable cost. But those remedies will now be applied to the Harvard faculty, and the professors are in an uproar.......
In addition, some ideas that looked good to academia in theory are now causing consternation. In 2009, while Congress was considering the health care legislation, Dr. Alan M. Garber then a Stanford professor and now the provost of Harvard led a group of economists who sent an open letter to Mr. Obama endorsing cost-control features of the bill. They praised the Cadillac tax as a way to rein in health costs and premiums.
Dr. Garber, a physician and health economist, has been at the center of the current Harvard debate. He approved the changes in benefits, which were recommended by a committee that included university administrators and experts on health policy.......

I am with you on this one....they are complaining? They should have a real job or work for themselves and find out what the costs really are. F em.
Great picture.
Ayn Rand has it so right in the naming of the progressive legislation...the name in this case is biting then back...”Affordable?” Health care. Amazing how clearly she saw things.
“What’s good for the goose....”
No shiite! I WISH I had a sweet, low cost plan like that!
They have not a clue of life in the real world in flyover country. But the sheep will realize now in 2015 (after midterms) the true extent of the Change they're getting.
“taxing the Sick”-
LOL- I got that too..— but actually that may
have been a Freudian slip- I always thought the
havard profs WERE SICK—
Oh by the Way — up here in minneeeesota the
U of M - (up until O’bummer care)- PAID NOTHING
for their health care!!- I kid you not- they went
nuts on the new “fees”- so.... I was talking to
an employee (this was 2 years ago)- who was having
his second child- NOT A single $$ Bill out of his
pocket—(and his wife had complications- must be
nice to be one of the Elite -(the U of M -gets
100’s of millions EACH year from the taxpayers)
Harvard professors should have paid more attention to MIT professor, Jonathan Gruber. Perhaps the Harvard faculty are part of the stupid people who were hoodwinked by Obamacare’s sophistry.
-——Garber says that he wasnt involved in drafting the ACA,——
Garber of Harvard is Jealous of Gruber of MIT
MIT? We are Harvard and should be the leader not the nerds at MIT
Help save America......close Harvard.
I guess I’m just getting old... I still remember the rationale for those benefits. Being an academic was similar to taking a vow of poverty. You got roughly the pay of the average sales clerk, you had to constantly research and publish, you had a long and continuing educational process, etc. In compensation, you had reasonable job security and good fringe benefits. These days, it’s more like being given a lifetime membership in the elite classes.... only thing missing is a faculty yacht.
well.. I do not need to rain on and on
But the person I talked to... NOW HAS 3 assistants
working for him!!- gee- let’s hire some more!
Are they bad people ...definitely not- but the
govt institutions are out of control and I know they
make more money than the private sector-
By the way- the Harvard profs- lobbied ! for O’bummer care
