The owner of the St. Louis Rams has announced intentions to build a massive new NFL stadium and entertainment complex in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood.
Stan Kroenke revealed the grand plan to the LA Times on Monday. In addition to an 80,000-seat stadium, the billionaire and his partners are proposing an adjacent 6,000-seat performance venue.
Los Angeles was home to the Rams from 1946 to 1994 and, as St. Louis scrambles to come up with a plan for a new stadium in order to retain the team, the City of Angels appears ever more likely to get a pro football team after two decades without one.

Michael Sam Memorial Stadium
For later
If anyone wants a textbook example of how NFL team owners play cities off against each other to wring a financial bonanza out of area taxpayers, watch this story as it plays out.
Of all the teams, hate to see St Louis lose theirs. Having the Rams go to LA makes sense from the perspective that they already WERE the LA Rams, but I hope they can get another team to move to St Louis soon. They have a great downtown set up for games and a good fan base.
Los Angeles is the place NFL team threaten to move to when they want to blackmail a city into building them a new stadium. That’s why they’ll never actually *move* back to L.A.
Besides, the city already has pro football. It’s called the USC Trojans.
This has been talked about for the past few years. Is this really going to happen?
Doesn’t it take at least two years to build a stadium? Will the Rams be a lame duck team in St. Louis waiting for this stadium?
” in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood.”
Suburb ?
LOL......more like a dive.
Ya, I’ve heard Inglewood is a bad neighborhood. Any freepers know the area and can tell us more about Inglewood?
I can’t watch the NFL on TV. A game takes nearly 4 hours and after watching 2 hours worth of ATT, Wendy’s and Ford 150 commercials, I feel my brain has been fried.
Good for LA and football. I have enjoyed watching football this year more than ever. I am sick of the bashing that this sport gets all the time. Very undeserved. It is a wonderful sport that should be respected. If not for football none of the other sports would even survive.
It runs from poor to middle class. Some of it is gang infested.
You wouldn’t want to live there.
How do you say RAMS in illegal Mexican alien lingo?
We DVR it and skip the ads................shortens the time to about two hours...............
Inglewood is bad news. However, the Lakers played there for years at the Forum, which was right off the 405 Fwy. This stadium would also be a short drive off the same artery. The location was the old Hollywood Park racetrack, and plenty of people went there over the years too.
Downtown LA is not much better, but you can bet there will be plenty of security on game days. Plus, as in downtown, there will probably be a major effort to redevelop the surrounding area.
Is he dead from bdr ?
Yes dont go there after dark who am i kidding don’t go during the day either !!!
Your post would be correct a few years ago, and that’s certainly how it’s always played out before. This time will likely be different. The economic reality is not the same anymore. St. Louis doesn’t have any more taxpayer money to throw at the Rams, and the guy is a developer and owns the land for a new stadium. The NFL might even be a partner in the new venue. This is much more likely to happen than any time since the Rams and Raiders left.
And if your watching that garbage on TaVa, the cable fat corps got everyone to pay them to watch their commercials which have already been paid for.
Outside government, it’s one of the biggest con-jobs ever.
So they will be the Los Angeles Rams of Inglewood ?
