I notice this wasn’t featured in the Boston Globe.
I hope she gets adequate training either way.
Maybe she should write “THERES A GUN IN MY HOUSE AND NO BURGLARS, RAPISTS OR MURDERS.”
Good for you Paula. To be armed and properly trained is smart. Meanwhile, keep it under your hat ,figuratively speaking. There are too many Bloomberg Nannies who spend their days dreaming of ways to disqualify you as an appropriate gun owner. Be proud, but don’t be too loud.

Hearts and minds.
I wonder if she has them with her when she watches the news on TV ....
I'm glad this woman came to her senses. Now she needs to take some gun safety classes and learn to shoot at the range so she is proficient. When her kids are ready, she needs to do the same with them.
“(we dont have children in the house so locking it up is not a pressing issue)”
One minor change to the above is likely called for: She doesn’t have any children LIVING in the house.
One still has to consider visitors, always.
“....A moment of levity during a very serious, very scary night. It was the moment I evolved on guns the moment my support for the 2nd Amendment went from abstract to concrete....”
Welcome to the War, lady.
Every one we take from the other side is one less voice they have to send against us.
One step at a time.
“The troubling part is below the header “And I’m strangely OK with it. “”
Cut her a huss man, she’s headed in the right direction.
Cut some slack for Ms. Bolyard while a long held belief crumbles before her eyes. There may be others to follow.
There is just something really wrong with that. Not one of the people refused, asked to see a warrant or objected in any way. Nor did any of these LEOs seem to be uneasy doing it. No apparent fear for their own safety.
I am reminded of the popular Solzhenitsyn quote:
And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?..."
And we're all supposed to swoon because some ditzy b!tch had a moment of logic in her room temperature liberal thought patterns? Where was her mind earlier? Did she vote for 0? Does she think we should all be able to own whatever we want? (That last on I doubt.) I get tired of idiots who have a moment of firearms clarity in their muddled brains and act as if they just invented sex.
It isn't about them, but about the tireless work of all of us who from childhood knew what the second amendment is realy for.
Experience is factual, reading about others experiences is questionable and can be pure agenda driven propaganda as we see with the Anti Gun gun groups diversion of facts 24/7.
This lady believed everything she had read or heard about from the liberal gun grabber left socialists.
Then the facts fell on her door step to live thru first hand per se......
My opinion...arm yourselves folks.
Opposition to the Second Amendment is abstract.
Support for it is concrete.
;)
One of the things she needs to do is impress her husband and kids with the imperative NOT to brag or mention to friends there’s a gun in the house. She also needs to shut her pie hole about a gun in the house!
This happened to a friend whose kids mentioned it at school. It got to the wrong parties, my friend’s house got burglarized, and several guns were stolen. The guns were later recovered on the East Coast and returned. However, this is the exception and not the rule. Talk to other people with firearms, but not to strangers or those you are not close to — including relatives.
It took Mrs. Miletus a while to be comfortable with a gun in the house.
The first thing I did was show her how to unload and "make safe" each of the firearms I owned. after she could do that we went to the range. Started her out with the small calibers and moved her up at her pace.
Fast forward and friend of hers asked what she would do if I ever cheated on her. Her reply: "He wouldn't dare, he has guns and I know how to use them".
