Nationally syndicated radio host Mark Levin posed some very pointed questions for U.S. House of Representatives Majority Whip Stephen Joseph Scalise regarding Representative Scalises speech before a white supremacist group founded by former Louisiana grand wizard of the Klu Klux Klan and neo-Nazi David Duke.
According to a December 28, 2014 liberal blog, then Louisiana state senator Scalise, was an honored guest and speaker at an international conference of white supremacist leaders, a conference whose organization was named, innocuously enough, EURO, an acronym for European-American Unity and Rights Organization.
However, a January 1, 2015 FOX News Report adds another wrinkle to the story. Kenny Knight, the event organizer, said that Scalise did not speak to the white supremacist group. Kenny Knight, a longtime political adviser to Duke, told The Times-Picayune of New Orleans that Scalise spoke at a meeting of the Jefferson Heights Civic Association, not affiliated with the European-American Unity and Rights conference that was held in the same Metairie hotel two-and-a-half hours before the white nationalist event started.
Representative Scalise, allegedly unaware of the connections between the civic group and Euro, however, confirmed that he had spoken at the event, a decision he said he now regrets, and has since apologized.
As many others should, Mark Levin wants to know more. In a note on his Facebook page Levin probed a bit deeper asking the following questions of Mr. Scalise:
1. Why did you attend any meeting at the behest of your neighbor - a known, long-time David Duke operator and confidant, Kenny Knight?
2. You know David Duke is a vile racist and anti-Semite, right?
3. If so, why did you have any association at all with Knight, a lowlife, let alone and apparently a mildly friendly one?
4. It has been reported that this sicko donated $1000 to your campaign. Amazingly, even now you apparently haven't returned it. Why?
5. I have to ask, Mr. Scalise, are you an idiot?
Levin did not stop at questions alone, however. He then clarified his poignant questioning by stating:
No one is saying Scalise is a racist. But the idiot defense is not good enough for the #3 Republican House leader. There's just too much at stake and it's not too much to expect much better from the Republican Party.
The truth is if Scalise was a Tea Party member of Congress serving in leadership, Boehner and his media cheerleaders like Rove, et al, would have forced his resignation by now, not mounted a vigorous defense.
More to the point, Scalise is a Boehner lieutenant. He's an unprincipled operator who, among other things, did grave damage to the formerly conservative Republican Study Committee and supported Boehner's efforts to purge conservatives from key committee assignments. He's yet another example of what's wrong with the GOP and Washington.
The American people are sick of it, says Levin, and those who defend such awful establishment leadership are not doing either the GOP or the nation any favors. Scalise is another setback.
He just sold America to the Chamber of Commerce for cheap foreign labor. He is a puke.
I see a witch hunt. Similar to the “accidental” release of BHO’s opponent in the Indiana senate race’s SEALED divorce records.
I tend to think that people are trustworthy until they prove themselves otherwise. In other words, I’m a believer in the “innocent until proven guilty” meme. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
When a man is speaking at 8-10 venues a week, it’s pretty easy to miss a red flag. To have one’s feet held to the fire over something so trivial (a twenty minute presentation to an innocuous civic group FCOL!) TWELVE YEARS LATER is beyond ludicrous, it’s obscene.
You continue to think the worst of everyone and everything, I’ll continue to wait until all the facts are in. We’ll see who becomes wrinkled, shrivelled, more bitter and has the first heart attack.
I used to like Mark Levin, before he became someone more interested in hearing his own voice than in once again making America the land of the free and the home of the brave. The liberals’ accusations against Congressman Scalise are trash, and Mr. Levin should know better than to give them legs by asking stupid and irrelevant questions.
It was a good enough excuse for PRESIDENT Obama when he used it to defend his friendship with Bill Ayers, domestic terrorist, Communist, and traitor, and Jeremiah Wright, ‘former’ muslim, continued bigot.
“Why are freepers suddenly defending John Boehner?”
Well, you beat Al Sharpton in finding the most retarded way possible in which to frame the issue. Here’s a better question: Why are you and Mark Levin doing the dirty work gor Louisiana Democrat hacks?
Kenny Knight, Scalise’s good friend and neighbor was a neo-Nazi organizer for kkk former grand wizard and neo-Nazi, David Duke.
Knight organized the event.
Why was Scalise hanging out with Knight?
So, you’re saying that Kenny Knight was not a neo-Nazi organizer for David Duke? Is that right?
So, you know all the details about all your neighbors? Who they associate with, where they go, what their grand nephew’s girlfriend’s sister paid for her new boobs?
I still say witch hunt until otherwise proven.
Why are you defending GOPe RINOs Scalise and Boehner?
They are bigger threats to Conservatism and the Constitution than liberals and Obama are.
No, what I’m saying is that a person could have served in a group with David Duke without everyone in the state knowing about it, as appears to be the case here. And I’m also saying that you’re trying to help the liberals bring down a down-the-line conservative public servant, just to make some stupid point about Speaker Boehner supposedly having a double-standard.
So you think that Scalise is a RINO? ROTFL!
Why do you insist on helping liberals bring down the most conservative member of Congress from Louisiana?

Governor Palin is lending her support to Mark Levins call for Representative Steve Scalise to step down from his Republican leadership position:

Rubio said ‘security firs’t in English and ‘amnesty first’ in spanish. he is a vile demagogue.
The number of people here that will buy ANYTHING that Mark Levin is selling is quite troubling to me. When exactly he became God, I don’t know.
In a contest between Boehner and Levin, I'm with Levin.
If the Scalise scandal never happened, Boehner still needs to go, and Scalise would need to go for backing Boehner.
Vile? Really? Not just the garden-variety?
I confess I am not versed in this particular melee, but in looking at the first question posed, I cannot help but remember an eerily similar question posed years ago.
It had to do with Obama and his ‘political coming-out’ meeting at the home of Bill Ayers. IIRC, we got the same sort of idiot defense there too. :0)
One issue is Scalise’s friendship with Kenny Knight, David Duke’s organizer. We believe Scalise is extremely stupid, or we believe he knew the involvement of the man he called friend and neighbor.
Thanks, Bratch, for the Sarah Palin link.
It was his good friend and neighbor who also was a neo-Nazi organizer for neo-Nazi David Duke.
You’re a politician and you don’t know that? I don’t buy it. Sarah Palin has now joined in with those calling for Scalise and Boehner to step down.
I am not helping anyone, Au. It is a fact that Kenny Knight was a neo-Nazi organizer for neo-Nazi David Duke. Facts certainly can have an impact, but they are nonetheless facts. Was the report that Bill Clinton’s specimen was on Monica Lewinsky’s dress a ‘political opinion helping conservatives at the time’ or was it a fact?
