Happy new year to all Alaskan freepers after little champagne I couldn’t stay up to wish my Alaskan relatives happy new year on FB LOL!

We tend to be divorced from much of popular culture because it has become so debased. I admit that when I looked at those videos, I wasn't sure if I should post them. Luvvie Sue was right that they were dark and probably inappropriate for a New Years celebration.

But I realized that they should be part of the record for 2014. I'm socially tolerant of popular culture, but even I couldn't stomach some of the stuff in those videos. Yet our troops grew up with this stuff, are exposed to this stuff on a daily basis, and are probably used to it. They may even like a lot of it.

It's the problem of age. Each generation sees the next generation coming up as barbarians.

I won't do it again next year because I think I've proven my point. We're in trouble, not just as a nation, but as a culture. Those Top 10 videos were a sobering experience for me.

It’s horrible and I noticed that. I don’t CARE about “cool”! I just want lyrics that have meaning besides something violently- or sexually explicit! Is that too much to ask?
