TOKYO Japan plans to draw up a law to speed the deployment of troops overseas for peacekeeping operations and to support allies, reports said Sunday, in a move that could strain relations with neighbours wary about Japans wartime history.

The concern ought to be over China’s wartime history
The Japanese showed themselves to be fierce fighters. I hope we can keep them on our side.
We need a government that is friendly to our allies and inimical to our enemies.
Right now, that situation is bass ackwards.

Yeah, both Japan and Germany have been hiding behind their so called pacifist constitutions as a means to avoid having to invest in strong militaries. The good ole USA has provided a defensive shield for them at little to no expense. Both are quite capable and have the means economically and in human terms to defend themselves. So, it’s past time for them to do so.
