There is no end in sight for Russia’s economic crisis, as crippling sanctions and tumbling oil prices leave the country staring into an abyss, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development has warned.

Catherine Mann, the OECD’s chief economist, said Russia was moving closer to shutting itself off from the rest of the world, while the West’s sanctions against Moscow over its annexation of Crimea in Ukraine had left no end in sight for the country’s woes.

Proof that fracking works! When an American returns to the White House in 2017, the brakes that hussein has put on domestic energy will be gone. I see Russia, Venezuela and OPEC crashing when “drill baby drill!” is finally permitted to take place.

Putin is better aware of the details of the situation than most anyone outside Russia.

And he’s not crazy or stupid.

He’s a hard man in a soft world.

Really? I feel bad for the Rooskies. So, I wonder what's for dinner?

When I was three, gas had MTBE instead of alcohol, and in my part of TX, it had just broken the $1 mark.

My (utterly non-scientific) prediction: With the way gasoline is made now, I think the price floor is somewhere in the $1.4-1.6 range. (After all, alcohol isn’t particularly cheap—what with the vagaries of actually growing the stuff, &c.)

Unless we explore the possibilities of alternative sources of dissolved oxygen (ETBE seems promising), or that new-fangled oxygen-free RFG (it’s been available since 2006, but the RFS overshadowed it shortly after), I don’t see gasoline ever getting to $1 anytime soon.

(Indeed, it’s come to this—the corn trusts aren’t even allowing us to take full advantage of the drop in oil prices—ethanol’s not free, you know)

Well, I hope it isn't us. All it takes for our world to end as we know it is a madman committing suicide by unleashing his atomic bombs.

Putin and the Rooskies are nothing more than useful idiots in the scheme of oil pricing. Once the Saudis think that they have damaged Marcellus enough, the price per G will go back up.

Unless Americans are stupid enough to put another Rat in the WH.

With the economy in the dump after seven years of hussein, the 2016 elections are a sure loss for the DemonRATs. And every possible 'RAT candidate is very unpopular.

You forget about the stupidity of the dedicated Rat. They are still trying to blame the economy on Bush.
