In the 1960s and 70s, it was fairly common for leftists to describe the U.S. as not just misguided or flawed, but sick. On Sunday, Daily Koss Mark Sumner trotted out that metaphor when he asserted that President Reagan introduced [an] infection to this country, one which caused Americans to believe that to save our nation, we have to treat our government like a threat.
Since the Reagan years, Sumner claimed, conservatism has been more than just an argument about tax rates and regulat[ions]. It's become an open and honest war on the whole idea of governing. By opening a gap between the people and the republic, the intentional murder of the American government was turned into something that could be supported as patriotism."

“I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
You asked: “If they love this country so much, why are they always preaching revolution, no matter who is in charge?”
It goes back to that Che Guevera poster — the one with him in the beret. He looked cool, so to democrats, that makes revolution cool.
(I have to learn how to post photos, but for anyone interested, here’s a link to the poster I’m writing about: https://ixquick-proxy.com/do/spg/show_picture.pl?l=english&cat=pics&c=pf&q=che+guevera+poster&h=1200&w=1600&th=120&tw=160&fn=Che_Guevara.jpg&fs=205.2%20k&el=boss_pics_2&tu=http:%2F%2Fts4.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DHN.608031193285463007%26pid%3D15.1%26H%3D120%26W%3D160&rl=NONE&u=http:%2F%2Foptikorgy.deviantart.com%2Fart%2FChe-Guevara-2163106&udata=256f9fb4b51875ee8d59c0046a29958f&rid=MCLOLTQLOMQM&oiu=http:%2F%2Ffc07.deviantart.net%2Fimages%2Flarge%2Fwallpaper%2Fwpolitical%2FChe_Guevara.jpg
Reagan wasn’t the first to ‘imply’ that.
It was one of the primary reasons our founding fathers wrote the Constitution they way they did.
BINGO
Rather than being a Democracy (or Mobocracy) as those who understand the premise, we should be self-governing best served as a representative Republic. Our elected officials represent the local interests rather than the mob or party interests.
I ask liberals where word Democracy appears in the Constitution. They can't - it doesn't. (I joke and say it is right next to the 'right' to abortion.)
But Article IV Section 4:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.
No, no, got it wrong Daily Kos,
It’s Democrats that are un-American, and we’ll take care of that following CW-II, which you all are doing an excellent job of starting.
+1
Sorry it became a mob-ocracy long ago. Everyone has forgotten God, there is no blessing left for wisdom to carry the day.
Joe McCarthy pointed out the truth about Democrats and has been crucified for it ever since.
“That government is best that governs least.” —Attributable to Henry David Thoreau
Agree, and Reagan waqs right, it's un-American.
Agree, and Reagan was right, it's un-American.
“They still dont get it.”
Sadly, many in the DC GOP don’t either and I fully agree with what you are saying.
What a sad shame that leftists have convinced anyone that the government of the U.S. is a democracy. Nowhere in the constitution can you find the words democracy or democratic. You will, however find the word republican. Miseducation is a cornerstone of leftism.
Our government IS a threat. ALL GOVERNMENTS are a threat. That’s why they must be controlled by the people—and kept small enough for the people to control.
Well, at this point, the historic evidence is in: the New Deal and Great Society are largely fiscally unsustainable failures, and the results of the leap to the left our national culture took since the 1960s has left us with an open sewer. Reagan was simply the only president to react properly.
The Daily Kooks...makes the NY Slimes and the Washington Compost look sensible...
Why, it's dwindling away to nothing, isn't it? What a state of dog-eat-dog anarchy we live in.
