Hello all. Sitting here at home and wondering if anyone else out there is spending this evening alone.
On this night of all nights when families gather and friends share gifts and time, some of us are, for various reasons, spending Christmas Eve solo.
Not necessarily a bad thing - alone doesn't always mean lonely. But, it does mean alone.
Check in if that includes any of you, my fellow Freepers.
Just the hubbie and me. Not really qualified as alone, but very quiet here in the C4E house. Wishing all my fellow freepers a Merry Christmas.
Might be the funniest thing ever. If you need a laugh tonight, look no further.
Enjoying Christmas tunes and FReeping.
A journey tomorrow over the mountains to visit family and then back over the mountains again to hang out with adult kids on Saturday.
Life is good, God is great :-)
Merry Christmas FRiend!
Just a side bar regarding your husband’s surgery. Get some ASAP Gel. . .works wonders for post operations. . . I have friends who have used it, went back to the doctors and they were amazed at how fast the healing was. . . no scarring. I put some on my beagle (after he was in a brutal life threatening fight) rather than using the vet’s medication. You can’t tell he was ever injured. Prayers for your husband’s recovery.
Asocial or asociable are less subject to misunderstanding, but see #2 which definitely applies to me (I don't know about you or Rome2000):
an·ti·so·cial ˌan(t)ēˈsōSHəl,ˌan(t)īˈsōSHəl/adjective: antisocial; adjective: anti-social
1. contrary to the laws and customs of society; devoid of or antagonistic to sociable instincts or practices. "a dangerous, unprincipled, antisocial type of man" synonyms: sociopathic, distasteful, disruptive, rebellious, misanthropic, asocial "worrisome antisocial behavior"
2. not sociable; not wanting the company of others. synonyms: unsociable, unfriendly, uncommunicative, reclusive, withdrawn, avoidant; informalstandoffish "I'm feeling a bit antisocial"
Although I would generally be "friendly" to people like FReepers (at least the socially conservative/ pro-life ones).
Nothing like a cold glass of water with a teaspoon of Bragg’s mixed in...hopefully it will ‘work on’ that platter of spaghetti and meatballs from earlier this evening...
I’m so sorry.
Alone and happy. Must start cornbread tonight for dressing tomorrow to meet with friends. Will watch that great Christmas film Die Hard tonight.
We just got back from the 5 pm Mass. Our granddaughter is 1 1/2. She joined all the little kids who were dressed as angels and shepherds and went up to the altar. Mary and Joseph walked Baby Jesus down the aisle and put Him in the manger. I’m never attending any other Christmas Mass. It was so moving.
maybe I can get the son to rent it. I kind of like Rogen/Franco. I normally would wait for Redbox/Netflix, but we may watch tonight.
Merry Christmas!
Couldn't have said it better.
I'll head to mom's house tomorrow and spend Christmas with family. I am blessed beyond measure to have spent every Christmas of my life with my mom. That is a rare thing for folks my age (54) and I no longer take it for granted.
Merry Christmas to you!
God bless and may he pour out every blessing to you in abundance for the New Year to come. Hang in there.
Sk,
Yo, also.
Thanks for asking.
Raben.
“Im not but, it sure feels like it.
For sure this is the last Holiday Season I spend around people who just have a difficult time with joy, gratitude and hope.”
Same here. Except for me, I’m not too sure this will be the last holiday I spend this way. I hope so, though.
Never heard of it. Is it for the incision? They told him/us not to put anything on it, keep it covered until the checkup on the 31st. Thank you for the advice.
I have been pleasantly surprised that he’s sort of getting around the house a little and up and down the stairs a couple times. We were lucky to have nice weather (for December) here in Nebraska today, and my son and his wife and 3 year old :) came to help get him into the house, my daughter went to Walgreen’s for his meds.
This is the second since I lost a son. His birthday was the 27th. My wife is downstairs and refuses to be comforted. I'm upstairs with his dog. I think he knows how rough it is for me right now because he's been at my side trying to comfort me all evening. Next Sunday we will have our Christmas and I'll get to see all the grand kids and things will be better.
Sorry and prayers up
