One of the anti-ISIS air coalition's biggest fears have come true: A pilot being captured by ISIS militants. The Jordanian F-16AM was flying over the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa, Syria this morning when some say it was engaged by a shoulder-fired heat seeking missile.

This will not end well.
F-16 ping.
Wasn't that a curse in Aramaic?
5.56mm
The SA-18 has a ceiling of 11,000 ft. Perhaps (1) he was flying low, (2) the rebels found a way to extend the range or (3) the ceiling is way higher than anyone thought, which is weird, given that man portable SAM’s are too light to carry much fuel.
The launcher looked like Russki hardware, or a CHICOM version of it. Hope the F16 driver makes it out of there alive.
The link says it was an SA-7 but it sure looks like an old model stinger.
According to the video at web site it was an SA7 and the hit looks fairly low. I’d estimate 2000’ or so.
The pilot would have been better off going down with his aircraft rather than being beheaded by ISIS ghouls.
I think I would have made that choice. If the poor bugger had any controls left, he might have tried to take as many as possible on the ground out with him.

Being captured by those animals is worth than death.
.
I thought they would be targeting that woman pilot.
This poor man is going to suffer horribly.

Only a couple of weeks ago, two Iraqi teenagers rather preferred to be beheaded than deny Jesus.
Some awesome faith/courage.
