New York Police Department Commissioner Bill Bratton said Monday that tensions in the city are echoing those in the 1970s a fear he expressed only days prior to the ambush killings of two police officers. Who wouldve ever thought déjà vu all over again, that we would be back where we were 40-some-odd years ago, Bratton said in an interview on NBCs Today.

this is what happens when you put socialists in charge.
It’s time for a grassroots Bring back “Mayor Rudy Giuliani” effort.

It’s nothing like it was 40 years ago. 40 years ago people like John Lindsay or Abe Beam didn’t take sides against the cops but then again, back then politicians in NYC weren’t the punk ass America hating commie mofos they are today.
We can thank the Kenyan, Holder, Sharpton and a cast of flying monkeys for the cop-hater agenda. These pathetic slugs are lost beyond comprehension. God Bless law enforcement across the nation!
I liked the old Times Square because it had old theaters that were ripped down and replaced with ugly skyscrapers and giant neon lights that would embarrass Tokyo. I hate those giant box stores selling garbage from Disney. Where’s the old Drama Book Store?! I do love that they saved and refurbished the amazing New Amsterdam theater, though. In the old days, Times Square had good, inexpensive Chinese and kitschy Hawaiian/Tropical restaurants and newspaper kiosks that sold magazines from around the world and, yes, the occasional nut menacing moviegoers at the Criterian with a machete. I was a witness to that one. As my NYer brother always says about the new Times Square: Mr. Potter won.
But I’ll forgive Mr. Guiliani for that if he’ll just run again.
Yes, I am so proud of Pataki for calling out Holder in particular.
He is the KING of the anti-white racists and it is a disgrace that he was ever Atty General.
I still lament the loss of Tad’s Steakhouse. The last Tad’s on 34th street shut its door in December, 2012.
What a good movie!
Just check out the filthy streets of the Upper West Side in John Cassavette’s “Husbands” made in the late 60s, I think. What a disgrace!
This is a liberal train wreck, a la “Eskimo (diversity agenda) meet whale (PETA agenda) — hard to support em both. Liberals somehow manage, but it looks ridiculous. That, of course, doesn’t bother them.
Here you have the socialist, community-organized, unionista Public Employee agenda meeting at apparent loggerheads with a cop-dissing mayor along with the communinista-organizers of the ghetto types. A liberal train wreck.
The resolution? The police union leaders will receive a good butt-kissing from mayor, president and AG; sharpton and jackson will chime in some mealy words, and the union leader and commish will declare that all is well.
Why? Because the unions have but one friend in the world — the liberal democrats who butter their bread.
So, on the surface, we will get a kumbaya. The animus and ennui will be relegated to the underworld of individualized annoyance.
Oh, Tad’s! That and Howard Johnson’s that sold discount food to actor’s showing their Equity cards! And the food was good, too.
I will miss to the grave the old Bun ‘n Burgers...
It was my understanding that WHITE officers were to be the target. The idiot killed a Chinese-American and an Hispanic. Was the killer on drugs?
There is still a Tad’s near Times Square on 50th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue. I was in NYC in early Dec and walked by the place.
Good. New Yorkers are getting what they voted for!
Unfortunately I agree with you. Lots of NYC residents have never experienced the pre-Guilani days and think what NYC became is the norm. They are learning a lesson and I hope they take it in.
“I still lament the loss of Tads Steakhouse. The last Tads on 34th street shut its door in December, 2012.”
Lol. When I lived in NY (in the 70s) I had a friend named Richy who absolutely loved that place. I actually looked to see if your name was Richy.
For my part I miss those chicken salad bagels served at The Bagel Nosh;)
Thanks to the mayor you chose to work for, the _resident, the attorney general and al sharpton. Bring back Giuliani and Kelly.
