A fight over a bill at a popular South Florida restaurant spiraled into a brawl Sunday, as angry patrons hurled glass mugs, chairs and Christmas ornaments in a melee that left a waiter hospitalized, police say.

When police arrived, the party that had started the fight left the restaurant and were outside in the parking lot. Multiple witnesses identified several of the patrons as being involved in the brawl, including 29-year-old Roosevelt LaGuerre, 29-year-old Claude Galland, 25-year-old Eurasha Fonseca and 19-year-old Abby Gay Thompson.

PS - ‘Anchorman’ references aside, why do the media rely on the ‘fight escalated’ cliche?
Has there ever been a public brawl that wasn’t ALREADY an escalation? Have the media ever referred to a fight as standard issue?
Somewhere on the ‘net there is a good summary of local media cliches. Shots rang out etc.

My guess would be they didn’t think they’d be charged, since they kept sending food back. I’ve seen this before plenty of times - ‘professional complainers’ who think that if they put up a big enough show, they’ll get their bill greatly reduced or even comped. The waitress can forget about any kind of tip for having to put up with them as well.
And yes, there is a certain segment of the population that does this more than others.

Worked for years for the DemoRats and their constituents.
There are two victim groups in the USA that turn to anger at the drop of a dime. Both groups can do no wrong, and have been made to think that they are oppressed.
When they feel slighted, they show their true colors.
One group blows up buildings, the other rapes and loots TV stores.
