A federal appeals court has overturned a ruling ordering Massachusetts prison officials to provide taxpayer-funded sex-reassignment surgery for an inmate convicted of murder.
Michelle Kosilek, born Robert Kosilek, has waged a protracted legal battle for the surgery she says is needed to relieve the mental anguish caused by gender-identity disorder.
In 2012, a federal judge ruled that prison officials must provide the surgery. That decision was upheld by a three-judge panel of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, but prison officials appealed and won a rehearing before the full appeals court.

The full panel of the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with the prison, not just one judge.
I cant imagine any court findng otherwise....with the likely exception of the Ninth Circuit....in Scam Francrisco

This guy’s case is so outrageous that even Barney Frank, Elizabeth Warren and Deval Patrick came out against granting his wish to chop himself up on the taxpayer’s dime. That’s eye opening.

But if this is allowed to happen isn’t that a huge incentive for pre-ops to commit a crime and go to prison? A Sex change operation is the most expensive elective surgery there is. So, commit some crimes, go to prison and your victims will have to reward you with a free operation.
