Gasoline prices are falling across northeast Oklahoma and at many convenience stores, it is now below $2 a gallon. Tuesday morning, News On 6 viewers began sending us photos of $1.99 gas prices at QuikTrips across the Tulsa area.
Viewers are also reported Kum & Go's in Tulsa area communities are also selling gasoline at $1.99 a gallon.
And the lower price for gasoline is not just in the Tulsa area, a South Coffeyville gas station has gas at $1.97 a gallon.
The last time it was this low in Tulsa, it was down to 99¢ a gallon in January 2009.
Jerry Brown will never allow Gasoline to approach the 2 dollar a gallon level here in California. He will find a way to raise the gasoline tax by a dollar or two if he has to.
I wish I could bank a few hundred gallons at this price.
I live in a suburb of Tulsa. We have mostly Quick Trip and Kum and Go stations. (The other stations are no ethanol gas.) They set their prices according to what the other has posted. Literally. The owner of our Kum and Go stations drives by the Quick Trips to see what he’s going to charge each day. Collusion of a different sort.
Here in NYS, it's still $3.00 in my area.
55 gallon plastic barrels are made of the same material as your red gas can. HDPE.
Seal the bungs well after putting in some PRI-G, and you’ve banked your 100’s of gallons.
Just saw this while driving to the office.
FoxNews said one station in OK is at $1.89.
NW Ark/NE Ok is currently at $2.15 to $2.21 range.
We are close to $1.00 less than a year ago.
Hardest hit: Russia, Venezuela, Saudi/OPEC. Of course, these low prices will also impact the oil drilling within the USA.
There’s no use in stations competing against QuikTrip in the Tulsa area. QuikTrip is virtually located every mile you drive in Tulsa, no matter which way you go!
There’s no collusion ... it’s just a recognition of the fact they can’t compete against QuikTrip.
I did notice a Shell station on 11th that had theirs for $1.99 for the last three or four days, and I guess QuikTrip had enough of that Shell station and they set all their stations at $1.99 today. The price drop of 17¢ in just a few hours is the biggest on-time price drop I’ve ever seen from QuikTrip.
1996, I used to pay 69cents in Tulsa.
Environazis must be going insane. More people will drive now...but oil companies will suffer...
Make sure you store gasoline WITHOUT ethanol in it because ethanol absorbs water.

Still $2.89/gal here in deep blue Connecticut.
If oil dropped to a dollar a barrel, we’d still be paying over $2/gallon for gas.
I paid $3.48 on 8/2/14, about 4 months ago at an independent who is always the low price station here.
Today it is $2.42.
There are smartphone apps that live on top of that as well.
You’re right - no ethanol in stored gas.
I’ve heard that PRI-G will pretty much keep gas indefinitely, if you add it every few years.
Something called “sea foam” was recommended for shorter term storage.
