In December 2012, Jackie broke down. All of a sudden she was going home and none of us knew why. It was right before finals, and I couldnt believe she was leaving. She was distraught, and only said she needed to go home. Her teachers had given her allowance to take her finals over break. At that point, we knew something big had happened. I didnt know until this year with the publication of Rolling Stones article how bad that time was for her.
Sometime that year I remember her letting it slip to me that she had had a terrible experience at a party. I remember her telling me that multiple men had assaulted her at this party. She didnt say anything more. It seemed that was all shed allow herself to say. I wish I had done something sooner. I wish I had known how to help. But I applaud Jackie for telling her story, now two years later. It was a story that needed to be told.

Jackie left school because she was failing several classes. Other media are picking up on this.
Since my last post was pulled, I’ll let someone else connect the dots to dear ol’ dad.

I remember a guy said he left college because it wasn’t a “good fit”. That and the fact that he flunked out because he drank like a fish and his parents cut him off.

You mean immature, a trollop, an alcoholic and most probably neurotic?
That highway?
That's exactly what he meant to say, but the kid is a born politician!
He should go far!
Nope, the USAF kicked him to the curb too. That was 25 years ago, I wonder what he’s up to.

Yes, the part that gets me in these kind of incident reports
is that women, a lot of them at least, want the public at large to believe them just because they say it’s true and they are crying and it is a sad story!
I have a beautiful daughter so I am sensitive to stories like this. But, women who tug at our heart strings to “just believe them” are, in my opinion, always going to barking up the wrong tree............particularly two years after the winds of time blow all evidence away.
No, she did not go to see any doctor or clinic, and she did not report her “gang rape” to the police. Her friends, who were with her after the “incident”, also told the WaPo that they weren’t interviewed by the RS reporter, and also that Jackie’s version of events as reported by the RS were widely different than how they recollect what she told them. Two that were interviewed by WaPo disputed that she had a bloody dress, that they were in front of the fraternity when they met, and that they discouraged her from getting professional help, among other things.
I would encourage you to read the original article. It is a great example of narrative journalism. Facts and fact checking aren’t important.
My bad. Looking at a different story.
Can you point me in the direction of her father’s interview or that information? I haven’t seen that anywhere, but will start looking now.
I was thinking that, too, but I haven’t seen this info before. Can you point me towards it?
Any chance you would consider sending me the link to the father’s story in a PM? I’m not quite the super sleuth you are. Thanks if you’re willing!
2 years later....BUNK!!!!!!! if you are raped CALL THE COPS, CALL THE DEAN, CALL MAMA AND DADDY, TELL SOMEBODY....but if 2 years pass STFU.
I am not following this “news story”, but I bet she refused to name the frat... and so Rolling Stone just assigned the crime to the frat they thought was guilty.
I am with you. I have heard of multiple partners. But seven guys raping a woman on a campus today? That’s just not how these things work.
One guy? Yup. Seven? No way.
There are too many girls out there who will engage in sex without rape.
I think the RS knew this person was “troubled” but went the sensationalist/radical feminist route and they are the most responsible. “Jackie” never filed a false report but the RS published a false account.
