Civil War Erupting Among Democrats Over Obamacare
Brietbart ^ | December 7, 2014 | Winton Hall

A civil war has opened up inside the Democratic Party over Obamacare.

With half of all Senate Democrats who voted for Obamacare no longer in office, top Senate Democrats Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and outgoing Tom Harkin (D-IA) have begun trashing Democrats' decision to embrace the deeply unpopular Obamacare program. Indeed, even progressive New York Times columnist Tom Edsall now concedes that Obamacare is partly to blame for working-class Americans' all-time low 27% approval rating of Democrats, which Edsall says has now nosedived to "dangerous levels."

[Snip]

"If more Democrats had been willing to defend the best thing they've done in decades, rather than run away from their own achievement and implicitly concede that the smears against health reform were right, the politics of the issue might look very different today," wrote [Paul] Krugman.

However, with embattled Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber set to testify on Tuesday about his shocking statements about "the stupidity of the American voter" and his contention that deception was essential to Obamacare's passage, it's unclear how an already unpopular law will turn public opinion around.

Of course they (the 'pubs) want it (Obamacare)

There's no longer any ambiguity. They won big by campaigning conservative. So either they end the Obamacare mandate and stop and reverse the invasion of the US or it's on them. I do like the current crop of DC backstabbers being out of excuses.

"Sometimes I think that the only people in the Senate who support Obamacare are Boehner and his friends."

Are you so out of touch that you can't see how wrong this statement really is? First of all, "Boehner and all his friends" all voted AGAINST Obamacare. Second, "Boehner and all his friends" are all in the House, not in the senate. It's fine to be cynical, but you must also face reality once and a while.

But they did vote to fund it when they could have not funded it.

Yep, they want it.

Here’s the basic problem.

The popular parts of Obamacare are already done — pre-existing conditions limits, kids covered to 26, and insurance or Medicaid plans for people who weren’t dirt poor enough to get Medicaid but not high-value enough employees to warrant health care benefits, the passive income surcharge tax on nastry ole’ rich people.

But these popular parts REQUIRE that the unpopular parts be implemented or the whole thing collapses. Employer mandate, huge deductibles on bronze and silver plans, large premium increases on employer-provided plans because of new benefits and eligibility requirements, etc.

You can’t undo one without the other.

But don’t count on the GOPe to seriously address 0bamafraud or executive amnesty or Executive abuse of power anytime soon. Hope I’m wrong, but these wimps have a dismal record.

Why would they civil war about it? Didn’t they vote in lock step without a single republican vote to force it down our throats in the middle of the night?

And don't kid yourselves. They would do it again in a heartbeat given the opportunity. It is who they are.

Someone has to pay for all those benefits.

The political loser problem is built into the very heart of Obamacare itself.

If some people don’t lose, some people don’t gain.

That’s by design and the Democrats think that if they ride it out, sooner than later, the political winners will outnumber the political losers.

What they see as temporary defeats is all the more reason to stay on course.

I’ll believe that there’s a civil war about this when one of these phonies initiate a bill to repeal. Until then I will consider them frauds in the Jon Gruber mold.

As others have indicated, the GOP Establishment (McConnell, Boehner) are not taking advantage of meaningful opportunities to kill Obamacare. They want it. I don’t care what they SAY. I care about what they DO. And the Republicans aren’t killing this thing. I know what that means — do you?

Hey dimwits, did you vote yes on the bill? If so, there is no rock you can crawl under and no diversions you can pander to extricate yourselves from your legislative badge of obamacare honor.

The groups/organizations that McConnell and Boehner TRULY represent want ObamaCare...they are paying the Speakers BIG BUCKS, and they expect results.

Is it possible that the reason the GOP is going so light on the repeal of ACA is that they want the Dems to ride that stinking, dying horse into the 2016 election?

Consider. If half the Senators who voted for the thing are gone, why leave the job undone? Why not pick off the rest and go for a GOP President with a super majority?

Those DemocRATS just got their butts kicked in November just as the GOP did in 2012. They all need to be “rebranded”. The state-controlled “media” needs to start advising the ‘RATS the same way they did the GOP back in 2012. The “American” Nazi Party and the “American” Communist Party are dragging the ‘RAT Party down.

Hasn’t the individual mandate already started? I thought only the employer mandate had been delayed.

They did once vote to defund it, and Obama vetoed the entire budget, shutting the US government down. The entire media establishment, as well as a large portion of the conservative media blamed them for shutting down the government. Every day all we heard was how Republicans were starving the old, killing the sick, and freezing the rest.

The Republicans will control both houses of congress starting next year. How about giving them a chance to see what they do, not what some liberal columnist says they will do. It's time to stop whining, and give them a chance to perform. That goes for you, too, Rush.
