"My generation of boys is f****d," says Rupert, a young German video game enthusiast I've been getting to know over the past few months. "Marriage is dead. Divorce means you're screwed for life. Women have given up on monogamy, which makes them uninteresting to us for any serious relationship or raising a family. That's just the way it is. Even if we take the risk, chances are the kids won't be ours. In France, we even have to pay for the kids a wife has through adulterous affairs. "In school, boys are screwed over time and again. Schools are engineered for women. In the US, they force-feed boys Ritalin like Skittles to shut them up. And while girls are favoured to fulfil quotas, men are slipping into distant second place.
All I can say is that I’ve been married to the same man for 54 years. Of course that makes us of a different generation and old fashioned, I guess.
I am in my 60’s, and haven’t dated in 9 years, no online porn, just the women now are brain dead or brain washed.
That is amazing considering in your age group lot more women than men in the pool.
It would depend a lot where you go. The old saw about meeting them at church has a lot of wisdom.
And so more societies will cease to exist by reducing replacement rates to untenable levels. Japan’s is so low it arguably cannot recover ever, Russia’s is low enough “procreate!” is becoming a sociopolitical imperative message, IIRC Italy is also dangerously (if not terminally) low, and USA’s is plummeting (down 10% in 10 years and falling fast). No point in monogamous productive mating if it’s at best discouraged and at worst punished; meanwhile, other cultures are prolific in procreation.
I live part time in a 55 and older waiting to die compound in S Florida. My single male friends refuse to date most of the local liberal trash. Unfortunately S. Florida is infested with RATS.
My 28 year old son has been telling me for the past 10 years that the girls his age are “broken”.
Although he did find one and get married this last summer, and she is not broken.
Too many of them of that generation are drama queens with all that goes with it (in my opinion).
Not anymore.
I moved around a lot, and the one thing seems constant in every town/area is there is always a church where the singles go and stuff that goes on there....Well let's just say it would make a Hollywood Soap Opera writer blush
You just ain't gonna find a good girl at church
Personal observation: the best time to meet someone to marry is in your early to mid-20s. I even saw a TED talk where a woman will marry or meet the man she will marry before she is 30 in the vast majority of cases.
Yet I ran into amazing bias when I married right after college to a man I met in college. I was told by women in their 30s and 40s that I had to define myself, explore relationships (including sexually), establish my career - THEN I could get married. They outright told me I was too young to marry at 23.
The problem with their view is that it prevents women from committing to men and life paths at the ideal time to do so, and the marriage pool winnows immensely as good guy marry the girls with more traditional views OR get burned by “I want to commit and she won’t”, so he gets trained NOT to commit by the time feminism says she can consider settling down past 30.
Feminism tells women to spend their 20s being freewheeling free love creatures as men would like to be, pushing away men who would start a family and breaking their hearts as well as ruining their own instincts to fall in love with those with whom they have sex. By the time each side is 30, he’s skeptical because of the repeated breakups while she’s built up a habit of distance and backup plans.
The end result is fewer marriages, less commitment when people do marry and more men who see no point in marrying because he can get sex without commitment.
Congratulations to you and your husband. My husband and I have been married for 20 years and have four children. We are raising three daughters in the traditional fashion. That will make life hard for them, it already has.
This piece makes me sad. It seems that in many parts of the world cultural rot has stripped away much of what makes life beautiful and we are left with a Godless and empty shell of what life could be. A self indulgent and loveless society. It makes me weep.
I’m 43 and married. I agree completely with the brain dead and brainwashed concept and it’s getting worse. I can’t stand airhead and terminally stupid.
Is it a church or is it a social club doing vaguely churchy things?
So many girls are bleeding heart liberals they make men sick to be near them. Men don’t want to marry a girl that then votes to tax him to death. I’ve known countless romances and marriages ruined by the girl’s liberalism.
Interesting and sad...while the muzzle men collect females and populate the world...these men just don’t want to deal with females if today...(yeah...I see what spell check did....leaving it)
Say hello to your old Honor Guard husband from me.
I still haven’t made a reunion yet. Too many miles to D.C. for me. Besides, I don’t miss the place that much.
The pool is over flowing because way too many are fat and those that are not seem to be Gold Diggers even into there 60’s.
Also many of us in the age group don’t want to date someones grandkids and dogs.
Were these women who, themselves, had taken that advice, held off marriage until their 30's, and then managed to find a good man to marry?
Or were they bitter, single feminists who wanted to create another bitter, single feminist to recruit to their ranks?
Don’t give up stockpirate, although I know how you feel. I see some pretty inane behaviour from some acquaintances, right from drinking too much to ridiculous hair styles, clothes, and some even getting tatoos - and they’re over 50! Brain dead and brain washed are a good way to put it.
I am hoping my son finds someone nice. Thankfully my daughter is happily married to her high-school sweetheart - a mom’s answer to prayer. Good luck!
Yeah, like “Who made YOU goddess?”
