In remarks that underscored an emerging concern about the direction of the economy, President Obama told business leaders Wednesday that, despite record corporate profits, stagnant wage growth is creating anxiety among workers.
Obama [said] that the shrinking of wages and income as a share of overall GDP had caused an “undertow” of pessimism, despite the improving economy, and said giving workers a raise would benefit corporations, too.
“When wages are good, and consumers feel like they’ve got money in their pockets, that ends up being good for business not bad for business,” he said.
Obama appeared relaxed and at ease, but his comments touched on a major emerging policy and political challenge, especially for his party, in an age of widening inequality: how to jump-start wage growth and ensure that economic gains are broadly shared.

But didn’t 0bamacare cause the surge of full-time workers to become part-time workers? So now “raise wages” to offset working fewer hours? LOL

Obama, you nitwit, you and your predecessors lowered wages in the US by your refusal to enforce immigration law. Are you really too stupid to know that, or just playing the politics however it suits you on any given day?
Wouldn’t it be great if a CEO of a large corporation said to Obama in his best Archie Bunker imitation, “shut up you!”
All good communists think businesses exploit their workers. He can not understand that a business needs to make a profit or it folds.
In his mind, the only employer is the government, and if the government exploits workers, that’s all right.
Business leaders to Obama:
Lower taxes!
Why in the world would they do that when 10 million new workers are ready to take the jobs of those who are unhappy with their salary.
That’s about it!
