When the video showed up here a few days ago there were people who defended the impersonator because the real ranger was mean to him.
Is his name Tom Harkin? I think he is looking for a new gig.
I just dont get the whole impersonation thing. Who is he impressing? It is so easy to trip these guys up. Why would you expose yourself to that kind of ridicule.

I can’t stand the fool but at least he did serve and he was ‘there’ and the ‘Glorious Accolades’ heaped on him by himself should have been stopped somewhere up the ladder BUT, I have a feeling that each ‘stop’ thought the next one would stop the awards
Of course the ‘retroactive’ SS became somewhat of a ‘gimmee’ seeing as he already had ALL those ‘PH’s’ (barf) and the BZ and the fact he was a sitting Senator - who I am sure being a ‘War Hero’ enhanced his Political Life.
But seeing as he is from MA one never knows....I have as big a problem with Blumenthal from CT, but - again- the LIBs thought the lie didn’t matter.....even Al Gore was ‘in country’ but one of the BIGGEST frauds was LBJ who flew over a ‘war zone’ as a Congressman and was a USN Reserve 04 had gotten a Silver Star basically based on an aide or some flunky looking ‘out the window’ and saying he observed some flak... seeing as how LBJ was a ‘big shot’ on a Military Budget Committee probably surprising he didn’t get the MOH.
I remember that. Weird. Also, the first amendment freaks defended him. I truly believe in an extensive interpretation of the 1st amend, but good God! There are limits...

I heard a report this morning that said he was trying to get military discounts at various stores in the mall in which he was recorded.
What an imbecile.
He has the first amendment right to claim anything he wants, besides, the army ranger wasn’t very nice to him.
“Claiming” is one thing, wearing a uniform is another.
EXCEPT there is a law against impersonating someone in the military for gain.
If you’d ever served and seen a buddy wounded or killed or been wounded yourself you would understand.
What this a*hole did was much worse than just wearing a uniform or parts of one. He displayed medals only given to people who walked the talk.
