Pope Francis traveled on his first trip to Turkey over the weekend attempting to reach out to the Muslim community, warning that the Islamic State is a major threat to Christians in the Middle East and calling on moderate Muslims to join in constructive dialogue and solidarity with the rest of the world.
Instead, Turkish President Recept Tayyp Erdogan, who had a message of his own for the Pope, greeted him at his $600 million palace and blamed the rise of ISIS and the recent violence in Syria and Iraq, including beheadings, enslavements, and the wholesale ethnic cleansing of the region’s Yazidis and Christians, on the “rise of Islamophobia,” in the West.

Its good that the Pope traveled to Turkey and got a good look and whiff of these Islamists. Perhaps now he will realize that his “who am I to judge” comment is not consistent with his job description. He is supposed to judge situations and events and then preach. Perhaps he came to some understanding when he went into a mosque to pray with the imams but as far is known no imams were reported to join him when he said mass in a church.
Erdogon is an islamic monster.

I suggest that we hear what Erdogan has been saying and remember it at the next natural disaster that happens to Turkey. There have been multiple strong earthquakes there in my memory and the US has been the acknowledged lead rescue nation every time (mainly military led).
Perhaps the next one won’t have quite that fast of a response. (After all, out current President desires the US to be one of equals, not a leader thus a policy of diminishing our military!)
How can anyone be Islamophobic about such a flaming ass-hole?
