I’m guessing that it’s probably because the now-government of Egypt realizes that unfettered Islam is not a good thing for tourism, nor worldwide commerce and trade.
When do the Ferguson-style riots in Egypt begin?

This story signals a political change.
Many countries criminalize political opponents, and in recent times the US(beginning in full force) during the Clinton administration. Some might say during the Nixon administration. The media are often compliant, and some are aggressive enablers.
Most of this problem, is related to prospects that are delusional or naive. Not everybody on the planet wants a democratic form of government. Many everyday joes and janes in the world want some kind of dictatorship, to protect them from “the other people”. Just because someone is against a givem government, or that they are establishing a new government , does not mean they have a tradition or desire to respect individual rights, or establish a nation like the United States. Legalism is a real ideologu out there, like it or not.

My Copt (Egyptian Christian) friend (now American) told me that the Copts back home are calling it a “Miracle” that the military dispatched the Brotherhood. They were not far from being driven out of the country (at best), but more likely being exterminated. As far as he, and me, are concerned, Mubarak can do no wrong - he held the Brotherhood at bay for decades...and hopefully Sisi finally rids that country of that scourge.
Not Mubarak only. Obama and Hillary Clinton have their own responsibikity for pushing the Egyptian Rebels as saints. Back at the time, I wondered: If Mubarak is at war with al qaeda, why not just keep him?
