....Obama pardoned the national Thanksgiving turkey with a smile on Wednesday, but he admitted before saving the bird from it's likely demise that he found the decades-old tradition somewhat "puzzling."
"It is a little puzzling that I do this every year, but I will say that I enjoy it because with all the tough stuff that swirls around in this office it's nice once in a while just to say, 'Happy Thanksgiving,'" he said.

He's got something to say about anything and everything.
However, NOTHING he SAYS can be TRUSTED.
His own supposed children are even reluctant to be seen with him.
LOL. “Whistle Dick”....haven’t heard that in years!
Of course he’s puzzled by it — pardoning the turkey is an American tradition. On the other hand, he’d probably be quite comfortable with a halal slaughter of the bird.
I never liked the turkey pardon thing. No matter who was doing it. If I was President I would use it as a time to give thanks to God for providing us with a bountiful nature and the food it provides - like this turkey.
And I would use it as a time to be straight-forward with the public. Just like all politics should be. Yes - we would still have turkey on the table in spite of me pardoning this turkey. What a farce. And instead of some unknown frozen butterball, this will be our turkey - and I give my respect to it, and thanks to God for providing it.
I’m sure it would make a much more meaningful meal for the first family.
Flame away!
Oh - and Happy Thanksgiving whether you are the Turkey, Ham, Goose or whatever variety!
Puzzled - me too - how can one turkey pardon another?....
Obama was only puzzled because he didn’t have to fill out an Executive Order before the Ceremony.
