Up to 30,000 missing emails sent by former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner have been recovered by the IRS inspector general, five months after they were deemed lost forever.
The U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) informed congressional staffers from several committees on Friday that the emails were found among hundreds of “disaster recovery tapes” that were used to back up the IRS email system.
“They just said it took them several weeks and some forensic effort to get these emails off these tapes,” a congressional aide told the Washington Examiner.

Hopefully some are Admin. Officials that destroyed their hard drives to conceal crimes.
Now the emails will come to light.
So not only will it show a conspiracy to commit crimes but tampering/ destroying evidence and government records.
It’s always the cover up that takes them down.

Takes a long time to wash 30k emails.
I would agree the revelation of this “discovery/recovery” is questionable, and those that said these emails were lost forever should be brought up on charges of perjury, obstruction of justice, and a Congressional investigation...
But...
30K emails by one person???
I would like to see any raised hands of anyone who believes an individual can pump out 30K emails in the same time (supposedly) that she was in that position at the IRS???
I mean I believe this is another smokescreen to make it difficult to determine the critical emails (trails) that she (and a few others) actually might, go to prison for that documentation of their oppressive activities...
Like a few have alluded to here in this discussion...I’m not betting on seeing ANYTHING happen to this person, or any others, for their abuses...

Good old Darrell was one of the gang who stabbed Tim Donnelly in the back during the primary so that GOPe stooge Neel Kashkari would have a clear shot a running for governor. Anyone who supported that clown is not to be trusted.
I imagine that with Issa out then I imagine that the entire investigation is on the road that leads to nowhere. My guess is that the order has already gone out from the GOP masters to shut it down.

Um...okay, .PST files and maybe they had to hack a password which was probably her cat’s name.
First it was “the hard drive was destroyed” and then the govt had terminated its contract with the company doing the backups, just a couple of weeks before the search was on for her emails.
Now suddenly there are backup tapes after all (DOH!), and thousands of emails are magically available. Which means they’ve been scrubbed, redacted, etc. So they’re benign. And won’t be of any value.
Looks like the O-thogocracy changing direction again in the midst of the REAL scandals in order to spin the news cycle back to “Remember Lois Lerner? Well there’s nothing to see here. But we DID look into it!”
