Some historians and political observers were surprised over the weekend when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, chief of America’s NATO ally, said Muslims discovered the Americas more than 300 years before Christopher Columbus.
But the Islamic leader was doing nothing more than stating publicly what Islamic historians have said, including some who believe Native Americans who spoke Arabic greeted Muslim adventurers hundreds of years before the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria sailed.
Among those reporting Erdogan’s statement was the BBC, which noted his AK Party “is rooted in political Islam.”
Erdogan said, “Muslim sailors arrived in America in 1178,” but BBC said he “gave no further evidence to back up this theory.”
Most historians credit Columbus with making known the Americas to the European and Middle East worlds after his 1492 voyage in the three ships.

Chief? Seriously? Maybe that’s a tie-in to the Native Americans.
How do you discover something that already had a large indigenous population when you arrived?
Just trying to lay the groundwork for the Muslim takeover of America. I bet the Mexicans will be really PO’d to find out Obama won’t be recognizing Aztlan, but will capitulate to the Global Caliphate instead.

Presnent day “American Indians” probably arrived after, thousands of years after, aftera group of people known by a few skeletons.

If this is true thank God it was Christianity, not Islam, that took hold here,
Islamic discovery is exemplified by the claim that Muslims discovered the use of sheep intestinge for condoms.
While true in one primitive sense, it was the Chinese who discovered removing the intestine from the sheep before use.
The Muslim is in the details.
“Muslims discovered America.”
The significance of this is that in some extreme Muslim minds, this means that America is THEIRS. If they were here and prayed on the shore, they are the rightful owners of the continent forever.
I wonder if Obama “thinks” this way. Yesterday I read an FR post stating that our government is seeding Muslim immigrant colonies in the more remote ares of the US, like Wyoming.
Obama would contend it’s charity for people oppressed at home. I think it’s colonization.

No documentation, no discovery.
But they saw there were no skyscrapers to bring down so they turned around and went home.

I guess the people here at the time didn’t need any documentation. So much for “discovering” America...by the Vikings, Muslims, Columbus, etc. Someone had beaten them all.
