Footage has emerged of Darren Wilson - the police officer who killed Michael Brown - threatening to arrest a man for filming him.
The video shows Wilson approaching a resident in Ferguson, Missouri, and demanding that he put away his camera. [snip]
The arrest was filmed in 2013, but was only posted online this week. It shows Wilson telling Mike Arman, a 30-year-old Ferguson resident, to put away his phone or be arrested.
Wilson, thinking he is being photographed rather than filmed, said: 'If you wanna take a picture of me one more time, Im gonna lock your ass up.'
In response, Arman, identified by the Guardian, said: 'Sir, Im not taking a picture, Im recording this incident, sir.'
The clip cuts out after Wilson approaches, but an incident report which Wilson filled out after the event revealed that Arman was cuffed and taken to Ferguson police station.
There he was charged with failure to comply with Wilson, and also for breaching regulations on pit bull dogs. The charges were later dropped, Arman claims, when he showed police the video footage and proved his pet was not a pit bull.
The incident offers another insight into Wilson, whose behavior during the fatal confrontation with Brown is under intense scrutiny.

C’mon, man - I’m eating breakfast here.
Arresting someone for filming should get him fired. What it says about whether the shooting of Michael Brown is legit is exactly zero.
Well...This certainly does not look good...
I also noted Wilson’s hand in his pocket while approaching the person he is threatening to lock up for taking pictures from his own property...
No sir, this does not look good.
There's no such thing. How did this idiot ever receive a law license and why isn't it being revoked?
Arresting someone for filming should get him fired
Wrong, it is not an arrest if no crime was committed it is FELONY KIDNAPPING.
Sounds like the kid was trying to aggravate Wilson....typical...
What I hear....The cop not showing fear...and that's a good thing. It almost look like Wilson has his hands in his pocket.
Is Arman black or white?
Sheesh, another cockroach cop opposed to the sunshine.
So, the cop is a douchebag who doesn’t know the law.
Surprise. Who else would work in that town?!
Doesn’t mean he didn’t get attacked by a thug a couple years later.
Turn up the volume. It's there. While Officer Wilson had his hands in his pockets, and walks calmly to the front door. Not exactly the hothead aggressive cop that the story tries to make Wilson out to be.
A slight problem with your comment, as it also appears Wilson lied to the resident.
BTW, the resident seemed more than polite, and did not appear to be “aggravating” Wilson as you described..
Okay, this is supposed to count, but the footage of the ‘Gentle Giant’ manhandling a convenience store employee doesn’t?
For us it’s felony kidnapping. The Law of the Lords is not the Law of the Serfs.
Assuming that this new video is legit, I would give considerable weight to both. And folks that attempt to minimize either video are just plain wrong.
It’s difficult to assess a situation when you’re not right there...and bits and pieces are insufficient. But I’m certainly not discounting your persepective.
“Okay, this is supposed to count, but the footage of the Gentle Giant manhandling a convenience store employee doesnt?”
No it doesn’t, but it does show us all that he’s a typical cop who thinks the laws don’t apply to him. The grand jury just needs to do their job as the finder of facts. Wilson is done as a cop, the idea that he gets his old job back is laughable. He will be paid off by Ferguson because the $hitstorm that would result for his being back on patrol would be mammoth!
The officer seems very controlled, as if a parent or authority figure having to put up with something annoying. Police officers must face punks all the time - this officer just seems to consider it another ho-hum call where he’d like to just tell the person to behave himself and grow up.
It must be pretty darned exhausting to be a cop. I’d certainly be losing my cool, answering calls to these people who, more likely than not, create their own problems.
I think that you make good points.
They would answer in a heartbeat. "Interfering", or "Obstructing", or "Disobeying an Order", or "Disturbing the Peace". They have them all at the tips of their tongue, and have used them all against peaceful citizens documenting their conduct. They are in big trouble now that it has been found legal to videotape them, and that you have the ability to upload directly to the internet. They can't destroy the evidence any more, which they used to do routinely.
If Wilson did bring a guy in just for videotaping him, he is one of those kind of a-hole cops who likes to do what he wants without anyone documenting it. That doesn't have anything to do with what went down with good ol' Michael Brown.
