In a 2011 conversation about the Affordable Care Act, MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of the law more commonly known as Obamacare, talked about how the bill would get rid of all tax credits for employer-based health insurance through "mislabeling" what the tax is and who it would hit. In recent days, the past comments of Gruber -- who in a 2010 speech noted that he "helped write the federal bill" and "was a paid consultant to the Obama administration to help develop the technical details as well" -- have been given renewed attention.

Of course, it was all a lie anyway.
If this has made it onto CNN, the mopping up operation must be in affect. Time for Russia to start a public invasion of Ukraine to pull this out of the news.
Nothing on the CNN website about this story.
yep... I am expecting an ... accident in this guys near future.
The excise tax applies to ALL health care insurance premiums.
SOME ... premiums and plans are adjusted to try and avoid that. SOME ... premiums and plans are not, as the insurer relies upon *these* particular plans to help pay for the others. SOME premiums and plans - holders - will be beneficiaries of some kind of government subsidies.
Now, the average individual -— who has the ability to pay, regardless of how employed (or not employed) -— will eventually be paying at least $1,000 per month at some time during 2015 ... IF such people decide to pay, instead of “opting out” and paying the penalty tax.
Meaning, by the time that the excise tax kicks in completely, in 2018 with expected inflation taken into account, MOST people in the USA will be paying the excise tax.
Re the penalty tax: If the government determines that you *intend* to NOT pay a premium, you will not only pay the penalty tax, but IN ADDITION, you will pay criminal penalties and may also be sent to jail.
The videos show him to be completely enamored with himself. I'll bet he spends a lot of time in the bathroom ...jus' sayin'
At least he admits that the Obamacare lie on “Cadillac Health Plans” was directed at UNIONS.
Hope and change, union dumb@sses!
And what about the legal precedent of a falsely constructed law being judged by the Supremes under the influence of fraudulent evidence?
It even made it to the CBS evening news last night, though it was in the middle of the segment and they tried to downplay Gruber’s role as an Obamacare architect.
I like Jake Taper. He is one of the more honest reporters at CNN.
Geez this guy really is as stupid as his analyses.
Talk about spilling your guts When you put one over on this many people you should sorta keep it to yourself...
Now, who are these OTHER people at these meetings who heard this and said nothing?
See the link above. This thread is linked to CNN’s website.
He participated in 19 congressional hearings per Fox News. Did he repeat any of these lies to the congress during these hearings? Someone needs to download these hearings off of CSPAN and see if there are more gotchas, but this time while under oath.
One per week seems about right. Dump the latest verbal dump on successive Monday mornings....
Jake is perhaps the only honest reporter at CNN.
I’m not sure why anyone’s freaking out over his Americans Are Stupid comments...he’s just laying out the foundational belief of modern liberalism, that we are too stupid to know what’s best for us.
At some point someone will find out that this guy has lied when it comes to other things. I bet he lied on his college applications and is not who he has made himself out to be.
