GROTON– Two Navy Civilian Police Officers were hurt after an unauthorized person tried to enter the Naval Submarine Base New London.

A spokesperson from the Navy’s media department says around 7 p.m. the male trespasser was “belligerent” and threatened a security naval civilian officer at the main gate with a knife. In response to that, an officer fired shots. It is unclear if they were warning shots or not and the investigation is ongoing.

It’s not clear where he is being held. Groton Police said they do not have him; and the FBI in New Haven said they are not commenting, not saying if he is in their custody or whether he will be in court today.Must be a pretty important muslim.
