As the St. Louis metro area awaits a grand jury decision in the police shooting death of Michael Brown, gun sales are skyrocketing, a local gun store owner said Monday.
Steven King, who owns Metro Shooting Supplies in Bridgeton, Mo., near Ferguson, told CNN that gun sales went up exponentially following the protests in the aftermath of the shooting 18-year-old Micheal Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9.
Sales have tapered off since then, said King, but have started to skyrocket once again as a St. Louis County grand jury nears a decision on whether or not to charge Wilson for Browns death.
St. Louis County prosecutors have said that presentation to the grand jury should wrap up as early as this week.

Sounds great, but don’t sell everything... inventory, guns and ammo, might come useful in the ensuing days...
I wonder what the wait period is in Missouri. It’s 10 days in California.
Why not seal the grand jury decision for 99 years, like so many other things have been throughout recent American history. Just forget it.
Put it in the vault with O’s documentation.
The great American "leader" who was able to successfully divide America into tribes that war against one another. Great job Barry!
This is where assault weapons fully automatic would come in awful handy.
The big money is in tee shirt sales!
You should move to a free state. In Georgia there is no waiting period for rifles or pistols.
This raises the question
what do they think they’re going to need the guns for?
There are no such things as “assault weapons”...
Ha! Great NY story.
It’s my belief that Ferguson will not go the Watts riots route because Missouri has pretty reasonable gun laws — and the new state laws (passed just this year!) explicitly supersede more limiting local ones. I know people in the St. Louis area who have “gunned up” and started hitting the practice range since Michael Brown was shot.
OTOH, I’ve seen video of “peaceful protestors” spitting on cops, threatening cops and the family of cops, blocking traffic, etc., with no consequences. If they can get away with doing that to cops, they may not think twice about attacking other citizens. Hard to say.
Seems to me, in a perfect world, the only thing to announce is a GJ that issues an indictment. If there is no indictment, it's as if a bunch of folks met to discuss some evidence that goes nowhere... and everybody goes on with their lives unperturbed. In that case, there is no newsworthy news; end of story.
Hate to say it, but that's not going to stop the rabble and their rousers. They'll see a sealed verdict as yet another way that 'da man' is trying to get over on them - and more surely riot than if they had been told the truth.

The far reaches of NY had become prison camps (CCF, Ray Brook) for many of the NYC convicts, particularly the most violent (lifer gang-bangers). Their "families" (mostly on welfare) were bussed to the areas for conjugal visits on weekends, and put up locally. NYC figured out it could save $$$ by simply moving those families to the rural areas near the prisons to save that cost (since they were already on welfare and in section 8 housing).
Shrewd move, as the crime in those communities skyrocketed. I also believe the NYC crime rate dropped almost proportionally.
Anyone in NY able to confirm?
Heard something about this. Was it Attica or Batavia?
Pretty excited those FFL dealers get to make so much cash by destroying the 2nd Amendment!
Most states have NO waiting period. You. Walk into a store and walk out with a gun.
In think Plattsburgh took the brunt of the relocated...
Want to stop the Ferguson riots cold? Send in several white female fatties with a Queen of Spades tattooed on their backsides. Only ones left out on the streets will be the black women wondering were all the brothers went off to.
