Was it Disco? Was it soul? Was it funk? Was it -- (AHEM! COUGH COUGH) -- Sex Rock? With Sylvester Stewart’s band, Sly & the Family Stone, on its way down because Sly couldn’t be on time for anything, there were bands in the wings waiting to eat Sly’s lunch. This was one of them, although it would be Earth Wind & Fire that would take finally the crown. This song sounds like a sex manual.

After the group’s premiere as a strong R&B contender, no one thought they would reinvent themselves as a Country band, but that’s exactly what they did, and they did it with style. They were invited to the Grand Old Opry to perform this one, the first black singing group to take that step.
